Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios have released the latest trailer for Commandos: Origins, named Six Soldiers, One Mission. The new trailer shows the six iconic soldiers who are making a comeback in the latest installment of this iconic franchise. Players will resume command of the soldiers in a brand-new campaign, which will see them crawling around brand-new locations to deter the German World War II efforts.

The game’s narrative revolves around Thomas “The Sapper” Hancock, who has been selected by the British Military and Government to form a specialized unit of skilled soldiers. Players will assume control of this six-member squad, each possessing unique abilities that are vital to completing high-risk missions behind enemy lines. From the aristocratic sharpshooter Francis T. Woolridge to the battle-hardened James Blackwood, the diverse team must work together to carry out their objectives with stealth, strategy, and precision.
Commandos: Origins will feature a 14-mission campaign, where you must utilize each character’s specialized skills to overcome heavily fortified targets and shape the outcome of the war. The game’s detailed and interactive environments allow for multiple approaches to mission success—whether sneaking through enemy lines, commandeering vehicles, or using environmental cover for concealment. Mastering the team’s abilities is essential, as the stakes are nothing less than the fate of the world.
At its core, Commandos: Origins revives the classic real-time tactical stealth gameplay that made the original series famous. You will command six legendary characters, including Jack O’Hara “The Green Beret”, Samuel “The Driver” Brooklyn, and Rene “The Spy” Duchamp, each contributing unique strengths to the team. Success depends on carefully planning and executing coordinated maneuvers to infiltrate enemy facilities and strike critical targets before slipping away unnoticed.
The game’s environments span a range of historically authentic World War II locations, from the icy Arctic to the scorching African desert. Each mission offers core and optional objectives that challenge the player’s tactical expertise. A revamped user interface with modern, intuitive controls allows for precise and simultaneous coordination of complex actions, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay.
Commandos: Origins will also feature a two-player cooperative multiplayer mode, which allows friends to tackle missions together either online or via local split-screen. This cooperative aspect enhances the tactical depth, encouraging players to combine their skills to outmaneuver the enemy.
The game launches digitally on April 9, 2025, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one for both console and PC. It will also be released on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Physical editions for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 are scheduled to hit select retail stores on May 22, 2025, while digital versions for Xbox One and PS4 will follow later in the year.
