Relic has shared the latest dev diary for the upcoming RTS Company of Heroes 3 and it is all about the destruction mechanics of the title. Destruction has been one of the key aspects of the Company of Heroes franchise and Relic is working to make Company of Heroes 3 to be the very best in this particular aspect. Company of Heroes 3 will feature a brand-new destruction system that will allow players to level entire buildings and everything that stands in their way and victory.

According to Relic, the destruction system in Company of Heroes 3 will allow you to topple bell towers, shatter buildings, and dramatically alter the landscape of war on a scale like never before seen in the franchise or even the genre. Falling debris from these buildings will crush any units in them or under them and this will play a vital role in various missions in the game. While they may be deadly while coming down, once they are on the ground, these toppled buildings can also open new tactical advantages for the surviving units and forces as they can use them as cover.
Another new aspect is using pre-destroying the map with tactical bombing runs which will completely alter the map and the mission giving you new opportunities and blocking those which were previously available. The game will offer action, tactics, and strategy in a single package like never before. Various decisions will matter, and you will have to stick to your decisions in order to lead the charge in the game.
The previous Company of Heroes 3 dev diary revealed inspirations taken from historians and WWII documentaries for the title. The game also held its multiplayer pre-alpha on Steam back in 2021. A release date for Company of Heroes 3 is not known at this point however a Steam page for the game is live and you can add the game to your wishlist for following up with any updates.
