Firewalk Studios has announced the beta dates for their highly anticipated multiplayer game, Concord. With the full launch scheduled for August, the development team has emphasized the importance of daily playtesting as a key aspect of their culture and mission to deliver an exceptional multiplayer experience. From the earliest gameplay prototypes to the final stages of development, hands-on play has been crucial. Now, players will have their first opportunity to experience Concord during the upcoming beta phases.
The Concord Beta will begin with an Early Access weekend on PS5 and PC from July 12 to July 14. Those who pre-order any edition of Concord will receive five codes for early access: one for themselves and four for their friends. Following the Early Access weekend, an Open Beta will be available to all players on PS5 and PC from July 18 to July 21. Both beta phases will support optional cross-play, allowing players to team up with friends on either platform.
Check out the Gameplay Trailer for the game below:
During the beta, players will have access to the full roster of 16 Freegunners, each offering unique playstyles and abilities. Familiar characters from the reveal trailer, such as Haymar, Vale, Lennox, 1-0FF, and Star Child, will be joined by other members of the Northstar crew, including It-Z, Teo, and Bazz. This variety allows players to experiment with different characters and find their preferred playstyle.
The beta will also feature multiple planets and game modes. During the Early Access weekend, players can explore four maps: Freewater, set on the sun-scorched planet of Glance; Water Hazard, on the stormy water-covered planet of Leviathan; Star Chamber, atop a mountain on the planet Gloom; and Shock Risk, beneath a massive conductive kite on Leviathan. The Open Beta weekend will introduce a new world and fifth map, Bone Mines on the planet Akkar, where players will fight through mining caverns and the remains of massive vastadons.
Concord’s dynamic combat system will be showcased through various game modes. The Early Access weekend will include Trophy Hunt, a respawn-based mode; Cargo Run, a no-respawn mode; and Clash Point, a round-based, no-respawn mode. During the Open Beta, players can try out Area Control, a respawn mode where teams compete to control multiple zones on the map.
In addition to gameplay, the beta will offer a glimpse into the Northstar crew’s story through cinematic vignettes. These brief cinematics will premiere weekly in the full game, starting with the beta phases.
Firewalk Studios is eager to see players in-game during the Concord Beta and experience the content that will be available at launch on August 23. Post-launch updates will continue to expand the game, ensuring a rich and evolving multiplayer experience. Stay tuned for more details on pre-load and server availability, PC specifications, and other important information leading up to the beta.
