Pixelopus’ upcoming PS4 exclusive title Concrete Genie will ship with two different VR modes instead of one normal one. This was announced by Jeff Brown who is the Creative Director at San Mateo Studio on the official PlayStation Blog. Earlier, the VR modes were announced but details were not shared at that point.
In the first PS VR mode, VR Experience, players will follow a curious Genie named Splotch beneath Denska’s lighthouse on a quest to unlock a special power using their Living Paint in a brand new way. Once you complete the game in this mode, you will unlock the second PS VR mode which is called VR Free Paint Mode.
In the VR Free Paint mode, the game will let you lose in any one of the four Denska locations and you will have complete freedom to play around with Living Paint and Genie paintbrushes which are found in the main story mode of the game. This mode is all about your freedom and creativity with the paint brush.
On the official blog post, Jeff states about the two VR modes:
We think our two PS VR modes make a great complement to the world of Concrete Genie, and we love the way things are shaping up. Keep an eye out for more in the coming months, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on the game later this year!
If you don’t know what Concrete Genie is, it is an upcoming game about a boy called Ash who brings his ruined seaside town of Denska back to life using only his creativity and paints. The town lies in ruin and Ash has to bring it back to life by painting which is done with the help of PS VR’s motion controllers.
