Crucial Introduces BX500 Cheap Entry Level SSD, Good News For PC Gamers ?

Crucial has recently released entry level BX500 SSD. The product appeared on official Crucial website, as well as on Amazon. Crucial has released so far entry level SSD in three models: 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB.

The SSD comes in 2.5-inch 7mm dimensions with read / write speed of 540 / 500 Mb/s. Crucial further praise the entry level BX500 SSD and mentions that:

Crucial’s 120GB costs only $30 on Amazon store and shipment starts on September 4, 2018. However, if you look forward to buy early, visit Crucial’s official website and play order there, the shipment starts August 31, 2018. The SSD will feature 540 MB/s read speed with 500 MB/s write speed.

The 240GB model costs $50 USD only. The BX500 technology gives 45 times more energy efficiency than a standard HDD. Crucial aims at bringing the SSD technology to every casual PC user. The 240GB also has same read / write speed as 120GB model.

The top of line BX500 480GB model costs $90 USD. The BX500 technology is based on Micro 3D NAND, that is world’s most advancing storage technology.

This move from Crucial will bring SSD to consumers at very cheap rates. Given such high speeds and the price point, Crucial may replace the traditional HDDs within years.  Crucial mentions that BX500 SSD is 300 percent faster than a traditional hard drive. This will be a good omen for PC users, more specifically PC gamers.

In another news, AMD has showcased its brand new concept of hardware virtualized graphics solution. According to AMD, the MxGPU technology can connect upto 16 virtual users with a single graphics card that powers MxGPU. This type of work nature is most required in work stations, graphics designing and in data centers.
