Custom Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, 3070 Ti GPUs Revealed by ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI

ASUS RTX 3080 Ti

NVIDIA finally unveiled the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics card a couple of days ago and now, custom models of these cards have started to show up from different vendors including MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS.

MSI has announced its lineup of RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards, which include models from MSI’s SUPRIM, Gaming Trio, and Ventus 3X lineups of graphic cards. MSI announced both the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti for its SUPRIM and SUPRIM X series which is targeted at enthusiasts.

The SUPRIM series graphics cards take advantage of the TRI FROZR 2S cooling system with the TORX FAN 4.0 and an advanced interior cooling design to adequately cool every part of the GPU. In addition to the powerful cooling, the custom PCB features a 20-phase power design and an increased TGP at 400W all powered through a triple 8-pin PCIe power connector.

The shroud of the card features polished aluminum as well as a polished aluminum backplate with plenty of RGB lighting.

The next lineup in MSI’s graphics card series is the Gaming Trio series which will also offer both Ti cards in its lineup. The MSI Gaming Trio cards are similar in design to the SUPRIM cards. They take advantage of the TRI FROZR 2 cooling system which uses the high-performance TORX FAN 4.0. The shroud features an angled design opting for a matte black finish with silver accents. The backplate also features a matte black finish and RGB lighting as well.

The last is the entry-level series, the MSI Ventus series. It will also offer both RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. Unlike the other two series, the Ventus 3X models feature the TORX Fan 3.0 instead of 4.0 to provide good cooling. The aluminum backplate offers additional cooling as well with thermal pads. The overall aesthetic is matte black with a silver accent as well as having a brushed finish on the aluminum backplate.

MSI has currently not unveiled the pricing of these cards but most probably the Suprim, Suprim X and Gaming Trio series will have a higher price compared to Founder Edition models which are priced at $1,199 and $599 USD for the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti respectively.

Next, we come to Gigabyte’s offerings, which have announced custom models as part of the AORUS brand, the GAMING series, the VISION series, and the EAGLE series. AORUS is the flagship gaming series of Gigabyte and AORUS has put the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti on the water with the Xtreme Waterforce models.

The AORUS Xtreme Waterforce models come in two variants, a Waterblock model and a regular one. The non-WB model uses an AIO while the WB model features a preinstalled water block. The cooling is provided through a large copper plate that covers the GPU and the memory which brings heat out through the copper heat pipes.

For the AORUS Waterforce, it is cooled using a 240mm radiator which features high-performance fans. There is plenty of RGB on both models which can be controlled using the RGB fusion 2.0 software.

AORUS is also offering the RTX 3080 Ti in water-cooled models. The AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Xtreme is the top model and is identical to the Xtreme Waterforce in the PCB design, but features lower clocks since it is air-cooled.

Next in line is the AORUS Master series which has both the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. It features a triple-fan cooling design and has a larger copper plate and seven composite heat pipes to cool the card. The shroud also has an LCD screen that can be customized to display GIFs, images, temps, and other things.

The next in line from Gigabyte is the Gaming OC lineup which has both the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. It takes advantage of the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE 3X cooling system to push the performance on the graphics card. The fans spin in different directions with the middle fan spinning counterclockwise to optimize heat dissipation.

The Vision OC series also features both RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti in its lineup. The Vision Cards come in white color and features a more elegant design with an overall smoother and sleeker look. In terms of performance, it takes advantage of the same features the GAMING OC line takes advantage including the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE 3X cooling system.

The entry lineup from Gigabyte is Eagle which also includes both RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. The design of the card was inspired by science-fiction with mechanical materials, a transparent cover, and a bright logo.

The last custom cards are from ASUS which include models from the ROG STRIX LC, ROG STRIX, and TUF series for both RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. The ASUS ROG STRIX LC is similar to AORUS’ Waterforce series and the RTX 3080 Ti will be available in this series.

The design of the card features an angular shroud with plenty of lighting both on the card and on the radiator fans. The water block inside the shroud makes direct contact with the GPU and the memory. The hose connecting the block to the radiator is longer at 600mm and the radiator is 240mm. The ROG STRIX LC comes with two custom 120mm fans optimized for both high CFMs and high static pressure for the radiator, as well for the third fan.

The ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti have a beefy air cooler to maximize performance and keep your graphics card cool under load. The card is a 2.9 slot card with an angular shroud design. It features plenty of RGB lighting completely illuminating the left edge of the card. The ROG STRIX RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti have a metal backplate.

ASUS uses a triple-fan cooler design using their Axial-tech design to adequately cool the card. At idle, the card can drop into 0dB mode. The new PCB allows for more power draw through the triple 8-pin PCIe power connectors. This allows for greater overclocking.

The final is the ASUS TUF series which also has both RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. These cards come in a much smaller 2.7 slot design compared to the ROG STRIX series. ASUS has opted for a stealthier, lower profile design on the TUF series cards going all black with a singular RGB accent on the front of the card.
