Check it out below before we jump into the details:

Cyberpunk 2077 — Rides of the Dark Future

The vehicles revealed in Cyberpunk 2077 are simply crazy. They are categorized into five different categories based on their cost of production and performance in the game. We have detailed them below:

  • Economy: These are the cheapest of the vehicles suiting your early needs. However, matching their price, these are the slowest and the most basic vehicles in the game as well. They come in all shapes and sizes including a tiny hatch that can reach every small nook and cranny of Night City.
  • Executive: These rides are made to impress. These are the luxury vehicles of Cyberpunk 2077 and are perfect if you need a luxurious ride to cruise Night City or simply want to flaunt your wealth. Just don’t expect to win any races in them.
  • Heavy Duty: These are the biggest and the heaviest vehicles in the game and comprise of various trucks and tanks. These vehicles are not only powerful but can also take a lot of punishment. You can use them to plow your way using their brute power and structure through anything in the game and even drive over other vehicles or people easily.
  • Sports: This category is all about street life and the racer in you. These vehicles come with various performance parts upgrades so you can easily swap out different parts and turn them according to your own needs. These are pretty powerful machines and offer a great deal of customization in terms of everything.
  • Hypercars: Hypercars are durable and speedy at the same time. If your primary goal is speed and armor, these futuristic beasts are for you. They are made from the highest quality materials and do not compromise on anything when it comes to build quality or performance. However, these are also the most expensive vehicles in the game.

After the initial reveal of the rides, two additional videos were showcased where Revving Up the Night City shows the development team recording the sounds of the cars and bringing them to life in the game. It was followed by Arch Motorcycle with Keanu Reaves and Gard Hollinger where the co-founders of the motorcycle company talk in detail about their collaboration with CD Projekt Red on Cyberpunk 2077. Sticking to the topic of vehicles, CD Projekt Red revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will also include the iconic 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo which retains its classic look in the look. The vehicle will be under use by Keanu Reeve’s character Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 and is the perfect representation of his personality in the game. It is coming to the game as a fully drivable vehicle. However, since the game is set in the future, certain small modifications have been done to the car such as the lidar attached to the front, a set of sensors, and elements to identify the vehicle from the air along with electronic mirrors with monitors inside the car.

Paweł Mielniczuk, Art Director of Characters, Weapons, and Vehicles, CD PROJEKT RED commented:

Johnny’s a legend of the Cyberpunk universe. When thinking about what kind of car he’d be driving through the streets of Night City, we knew it would have to be one just as legendary as he is. Having Johnny’s story in mind, and being huge fans of Porsche ourselves, the answer could only be the classic 911 Turbo.

Along with the digital adaptation of the car, a real-life and fully operational 911 Turbo has also been made and will be on display outside the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart from October 15th to October 22, 2020. It is also featured in a commercial shot on location, telling the story of a car that retains a mysterious connection to its previous owner. Check it out below:
