Daymare: 1998 started its life as an unofficial Resident Evil 2 remake mod but after the developers shut it down and later released its own remake, the developers did not stop working on their own remake. Instead of shutting down the project, they continued their work under a new name and thus released Daymare: 1998 last year and we really liked this brilliant horror title that sends back a classic nod to the earlier horror games. The developer of Daymare 1998: has now released an easy mode for the game catering to the fan-feedback.
As we already know, earlier titles were not easy to play and since Daymare: 1998 essentially takes its inspirations from earlier horror games when enemies were brutal and puzzles were mind-tricking, it was however a little hard and somewhat tricky to complete. Certain players complained this to the developers as well and now it seems like the developers have finally listened to the fans and a brand new mode has been added to the game which makes it more accessible to the modern and casual player.
The brand-new game mode comes with the option of having a faster movement, easy reloading, and a ‘skip puzzle’ button. This means that players will basically get a free ride through the story of Daymare: 1998 if they get stuck in the game. Complete patch notes of the new update include:
- Faster movement
- Easy reloading (no ammo management)
- “Skip puzzle” button
- Two new maps for H.A.D.E.S. Dead End (PC only)
- And more!
The new update is already live for PC players however the console players will get the update soon enough as well. Daymare: 1998 is a third-person survival horror game that features hardcore survival mechanics and unyielding mechanics. The enemies are certainly tough in the game and puzzles require a little built of backtracking as well, a concept that not many new gamers are used to dealing with. All of this was apparently too much for the players however with the new update, the game will be more accessible for players around the world whether they are hardcore horror fans or just casual players looking forward to experiencing the story of the game.
