Days Gone has claimed the top spot in physical game sales in the UK when it beat Mortal Kombat 11 and all other top sellers of the past week. Days Gone sits comfortably at the top spot despite getting mediocre reviews at its launch. The game also had the strongest release of 2019 in the UK as it had beaten the records for Resident Evil 2, The Division 2 and Far Cry: New Dawn.
This only includes the physical sales and digital sales are not included in this which might be even more for the title than the physical sales. Days Gone might have had a very strong release window in terms of physical sales but it is still behind last year’s God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man considering that both of them were PS4 exclusives as well.
The other new title last week was Mortal Kombat 11 which was at the top spot until Days Gone was released and naturally, it was beaten by the PS4 exclusive. Mortal Kombat is sitting at the number 2 spot at this point while World War Z suffered from a massive sale decline and the game is now down 9 spots and is currently at number 10 spot.
Below you will find last week’s updated UKIE/GfK Top Ten games:
- Days Gone
- Mortal Kombat 11
- FIFA 19
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Forza Horizon 4
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- World War Z
Mortal Kombat 11’s launch sales are much less than Mortal Kombat X but this might be because of the fact that players are now purchasing more digital copies rather than physical copies. Apart from these two major editions, the rest of the top ten list is nearly the same as most weeks. Sekiro is still sitting at the seventh spot while Forza Horizon 4 has entered the list again with a 1% increase in sales.
