Melee Weapons
This section of the guide lists all the melee weapons found in Dead Cells and their details.
Rusty Sword
This is the starting weapon and it cannot be upgraded. It deals 119 damage.
Assassin’s Dagger
Its blueprint is found in the secret area located above the starting point of the Promenade of the Condemned. It deals 100 damage and inflicts a critical blow when you backstab an enemy.
Balanced Blade
Balanced Blade deals 127 damage and you start with this blade. A good blade allows rapid and consecutive strikes.
Blood Sword
It deals 109 damage and zombies drop its blueprint. It causes the Bleeding status effect.
Broad Sword
It deals 153 damage and you can find its blueprint by the dead man inside the Prisoner’s Cells. It is slow but deals massive damage. Features a three-hit combo where the third one leaves you vulnerable.
Cursed Sword
Cursed Sword deals 407 damage and its blueprint is dropped by The Watcher. It also deals exceptionally large amounts of damage.
Dagger of the Sadistic Cult
If the enemy is already suffering from a status effect such as bleeding, burning or poison, it will deal a critical blow to them. Its blueprint is dropped by Spiker. It deals 109 damage on normal hits.
Frantic Sword
If your health reaches below 50%, using the Frantic Sword will deal a critical blow on your enemy. Its blueprint is dropped by Kamikaze.
Hayabusa Boots
With these equipped, every last hit deals area damage and pushes enemies back. You can find its blueprint at the end of the Forgotten Sepulchre. They deal 137 damage.
Impaler
It deals 120 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Incomplete One. If your enemies end up against a wall, the Impaler will deal a critical blow to them.
Giant Killer
The Giant Killer is one of the most rarest of the weapons in the game. It deals 150 damage and a combo can lead to 400 damage. It is only obtained through Daily Runs and even then the win ratio is very low making it one of the rarest weapons in the game.
Oiled Sword
It deals 149 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Bats. It covers enemies with oil with each hit which can be set on fire later for great amounts of damage.
Rapier
It deals 90 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Scorpion. If you attack right after rolling, it will deal a critical hit.
Shovel
It deals 145 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Host Zombies. It can fling enemies and bombs back.
Spartan Sandals
They are used to kick enemies back and also can interrupt their attacks. Each hit will deal 53 damage and you can find its blueprints by killing Phazers.
Spiked Boots
They deal 50 damage per hit and their blueprint is dropped by Thornies. If you interrupt an enemy attack with them, you will land a critical hit.
Spiteful Sword
It will inflict a critical hit on enemies if you attack right after getting hit. It deals 131 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Flying and Corpse Biter.
Symmetrical Lance
It deals 168 damage per hit and if you manage to land a combo, this damage is increased to 305. You will get this weapon after beating the final boss of the game. Kill two enemies in a row to land constant critical hits on enemies. Maintaining your life at 100% grants Symmetrical Lance a damage boost of 50%.
The Nutcracker
You have this from the start. It deals 104 damage and it is used to stun enemies that have more than 75% health.
Torch
It deals 99 damage to enemies that have been ignited with it. Other damage dealt to these ignited enemies is increased for 2.7 seconds. Its blueprint is dropped by Ossuary.
Twin Daggers
They deal 136 damage and you start the game with them. Every third hit with them is a critical strike.
War Spear
Its blueprint is dropped by Mechanical Spider and it deals 149 damage. If you manage to land a hit on several enemies at once, it will land a critical hit.
Ranged Weapons

Beginner’s Bow
You start the game with this bow and it deals 64 damage. You can recover your arrows from dead enemies.
Bow and Infinite Arrows
It has unlimited ammo and its blueprint is dropped by Undead Archers. Each arrow deals 76 damage.
Cluster Grenades
Cluster Grenades deal variable damage to enemies ranging from 42 to 252. When thrown, it will further split into six smaller parts and each will explode separately. If an enemy comes in range of two explosions, he will get extra damage. You can find their blueprints by killing Slashers which are located in Old Sewers, Ossuary, Prison Depths, and the Graveyard.
Electric Whip
You start the game with this weapon. It will automatically target any enemy that is close to you and deal 64 damage with each hit.
Explosive Crossbow
It deals 127 damage and its blueprint is found in Promenade of the Condemned. Find the three gardener keys and unlock the doors. Kill the elites and they will drop its blueprint.
Fire Brands
You start the game with this weapon. It allows you to burn the ground and your enemies. Any enemy that steps in the burning area is burnt as well. It deals 8 damage on each hit and keeps inflicting burn damage for three seconds.
Heavy Crossbow
Its blueprint is dropped by Incomplete One and each hit deals 280 damage. It can shoot multiple bolts at the same time.
Hunter’s Longbow
Its blueprint is located behind the Timed Gate. It deals 75 damage per hit and if you manage to land a hit from a great distance, it will become a critical blow.
Heavy Grenades
They deal 70 damage per hit and their blueprint is dropped by the Bombardiers at the Clock Tower. Shield Barriers have the ability to kick back these grenades so you must watch out. They have very good crowd-controlling capabilities and will help you in clearing large amounts of enemies quickly.
Ice Bow
Each hit freezes enemies and deals 13 damage. Undead Archers drops its blueprint.
Infantry Bow
This bow favors close range and will land a critical hit every time you hit from a close range. Each hit deals 68 damage and its blueprint is also dropped by Undead Archers.
Marksman’s Bow
It deals 104 damage and its blueprint is found behind the Timed Door at the Ossuary. Every hit from its maximum range is a critical hit. It is one of the best bows in the game.
Nerves of Steel
It deals 125 damage and its blueprint is found in The Ramparts. Getting it is very tricky. You can only get it at a certain time. While you are in The Ramparts, head to the far right of the location and jump on the invisible platform. It only appears when the last tower does not open the exit to the next stage. If it does, you will not be able to get it. It is great and can be charged quickly to land critical hits.
Quick Bow
It deals 80 damage per hit and its blueprint is located in the secret area above the starting point of Prisoner’s Cells.
Repeater Crossbow
Its blueprint is dropped by The Tracker. it can fire powerful bursts of bolts that can kill an enemy in one hit. Each hit deals 122 damage.
Throwing Knife
You start the game with these. Each throw will deal 14 damage and cause the Bleeding effect for 2 seconds. It is auto-aimed at the closest enemy.
Valmont’s Whip
It deals 53 damage per hit and its blueprint is dropped by Ugly Worms. It mostly goes through shields and always lands a critical hit when you attack from its maximum distance.
Wrenching Whip
It deals 115 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Pirate Captains. It ignores shields and pulls enemies towards you so that you can get up close and personal with them.
Shields

Assault Shield
It deals 43 damage and its blueprint is located behind the Timed Gate. You can use it to charge forward while blocking enemy attacks.
Blood Shield
It deals 33 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Shield Bearers. It blocks enemy attacks and causes the Bleeding status effect on all enemies near you.
Force Shield
It deals 33 damage and its blueprint is also dropped by Shield Bearers. It will trigger a force field every time you successfully parry an attack.
Good ol’ Wooden Shield

Greed Shield
You start the game with this shield. It deals 67 damage and has the ability to pull gold from the enemy’s teeth when you block. It will also convert enemy arrows to gold.
Shove Shield
It deals 44 damage and its blueprint is dropped by Catchers. It blocks enemy attacks and pushes them back violently.
Spiked Shield
It deals 211 damage and its blueprint is dropped by running zombies. It will block enemy attacks and deal heavy damage to the attackers.
Sturdy Shield
You start the game with this shield. It blocks enemy attacks and stuns them. It also deals 44 damage per hit to the attackers.
