Hideo Kojima, director of Death Stranding, has shared an update that Death Stranding is a little delayed as it is running behind its planned scheduled. He shared this information with J-Wave in an interview.
During the interview, Hideo Kojima told J-Wave that the story and design are complete at this point however the title is still behind schedule. This is their internal release schedule as we all are aware that a public release date has not been announced by Kojima Productions as of yet despite fans eagerly waiting for a confirmed date.
In his interview, Kojima also mentions that such slight delays are quite natural for games of such scale and nature. Kojima is himself playing the game and giving out different directions to the development team on what needs to be changed or improved. He also states that this extra time is for polishing the game and making it as perfect as possible at launch.
Hideo Kojima also ensures the fans that the delay is not going to be too long and it will be a small delay in the release schedule however fans are worried that the title will indeed go into 2020 and are starting to lose hope about a 2019 release.
Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first title after parting ways with Konami. He set up his own studio Kojima Productions after the separation and the studio has been busy working on its first title Death Stranding ever since. Check out the game’s trailer below.
