Mules Guide – Death Stranding

Our Death Stranding Mules Guide details everything that you need to know about Mules and their bases in Death Stranding.

What are Mules in Death Stranding

Mules are essentially former deliveryman who have gone rogue and are now called Mules. They live in their own bases which are pretty heavily defended by sensors and Mules themselves. Some of them are also found randomly while exploring the world of the game and if they see you, they will stop at nothing to steal your cargo. If they manage to steal a player’s cargo, they will take it back to their base and store it there.

Mule Bases

Mule bases are bases owned and operated by Mules. You will often find them as you explore the world of the game. You will often find pretty decent loot in these bases which is mostly stolen cargo of other players. Mules steal from other players and store their cargo at their bases which can be exploited by you. If you find a base, you can raid it to find some useful cargo.

However, stealing back from Mules is no easy task. Most of the time, their bases are protected by sensors that will detect your cargo and inform all the Mules in the base. Once informed, Mules will hunt you down for stealing your cargo. However, you can always hide until the heat is down before you sneak back in.

The best way to deal with Mule bases is by using stealth. It ensures that you are able to loot in peace while also ensures that you do not waste your ammo on pointless gunfights. If you want to clear out the camp of all Mules, stick to stealth and kill them will stealth attacks because it is much more convenient. Once you are past the sensors and enemies, you can explore the Mule base for stolen cargo.

You will find Mule Postboxes and normal stolen cargo containers inside the bases. Mule Postboxes must be hacked before you can open them. If you are feeling generous, you can store some resources for other players in these postboxes as well. Once you’ve collected the available cargo, you can sneak back out or if you’ve already taken care of the enemies, just run back out from their camp and be on your way.
