Flying Red Dragon Boss Battle Guide – Demon’s Souls

Our Demon’s Souls Flying Red Dragon Boss Battle Guide details everything that you need to know about defeating the Flying Red Dragon boss in Demon’s Souls.

How to Defeat the Flying Red Dragon in Demon’s Souls

The main bridge in Boleterian Palace is being guarded by a ferocious Flying Red Dragon that continuously flies over the bridge and burns everything that tries to cross it. You will come face-to-face with this mighty beast two times. While you can fight with the dragon in both encounters, the much easier approach is the second encounter after defeating the boss Phalanx in the game. When you reach the long bridge, the dragon will reappear, and you will need to take care of the dragon before you can cross the bridge.

As you would notice, the dragon will not land on the bridge or attack you while hovering above you. It will continue to fly past the bridge-burning everything down at the bridge like an A-10 Thunderbolt would do a flyby with its massive 30 mm Gatling gun. You have two methods to kill the dragon and both of them will take some time. One of the methods actually requires some preparation as well. You can either use the melee method or use the ranged-attack method to kill the dragon and cross the bridge.

For the ranged method, you will either a bow with at least 150 arrows or your magic wand with enough mana to kill the dragon. Make sure you bring some items to restore your mana until the dragon is dead. For this method, you can stand near the start of the bridge at a safe place and every time the dragon makes a pass, hit it with an arrow or your magic. For melee, stand near the burning corpse pile and while facing the bridge, swing your sword every time you hear the dragon’s roar. This will time your attack right and your attack will hit the dragon.

This is a tedious process so make sure that you are ready for the commitment until the dragon dies and also make sure that you bring plenty of supplies along if you prefer the ranged method. For more boss battles, check out the guides detailed below:
