Old Hero is the blind boss that you will need to fight and defeat in order to progress further in the Shrine of Storms Archstone. You will encounter him at the end of The Ritual Path, and this boss is different from the others in the fact that he is a blind boss. He literally cannot see and has a rag tied over his eyes. This boss moves and attacks using sound and incoming attacks, so you will need to exploit his weakness to defeat him easily. Old Hero Boss Battle Guide – Demon’s Souls

Since Old Hero cannot see, he will determine your location using sound and attacks. If you attack him, he will instantly start counterattacking, and if you are running around making noises, he will quickly determine your location as well. If he is unable to find your location, he will swing around his arms and sometimes will land powerful attacks in random locations, so make sure that you are aware of his movements at all times. You can move behind him silently and initiate your attacks and try to land a few hits before backing up quickly since he will begin attacking your location.

You can roll away from his attacks and stay silent for a few seconds before he loses your location again. His most destructive attack is an AoE attack, which he starts by raising his sword into the air and then lands the attack by slamming it into the ground. When his arm goes up, quickly roll behind his back and get in quickly for some hits. His remaining attacks can be dodged easily using a roll, so just make sure that you do not stay in one location for a long time and stay in the shadows for a few seconds so that he can lose your location before silently going in for your next attack.

You can make this battle even easier by equipping the Thief Ring, which will make is even harder for the boss to detect your movements. If you are a Ranged character, you can stay in the shadows and spam your most powerful spells from a safe distance. This will make the fight exceptionally easy for you.
