How to Defeat

To make things easier for yourself in the fight, or to gain an advantage against the Old Hero, you can equip the Thief’s Ring to increase your sneaking by greatly reducing your movement sound. This will be apparent when you have light weapons and move slowly to sneak behind the boss. The Old Hero will never be aware of your presence if you sneak in slow, while he will be aimlessly swinging at random spots in attempts to hit you.

The Old Hero has a handful of attacks that it produces with its sword. There are two slashing attacks where he slashes upwards, while the second is the turning around and slashing behind him to catch you sneaking behind. The third attack is where he smashes the ground with his sword in front of him, while a leaping attack is the same but the boss leaps at your location to get close. The final attack is where the boss will kneel on the ground for a big area of effect attack. However, this attack only happens when you draining more than half of the boss’ health.

Every one of his attacks can be dodged if you can predetermine the attack and where you need to dodge towards. The attack where he turns around to slash should always be dodged to the right. On the other hand, the upward slash needs to be dodged to the left.

The Old Hero’s blindness should work to your advantage as you can sneak behind him and hit him a few times. Be aware that you should back off immediately after hitting, as the boss will quickly become enraged and slice at your position. Additionally, you can sneak around and let the boss perform heavy attacks and then proceed to attack when he is vulnerable for a few moments.

On the other hand, you can equip the Thief’s Ring to increase stealth and use Firestorm or arrows to attack the boss from a distance. Make sure you keep moving slowly to keep the boss guessing your location.
