Phalanx Boss Battle Guide – Demon’s Souls

Our Demon’s Souls Phalanx Boss Battle Guide details everything that you need to know about defeating the boss Phalanx in Demon’s Souls.

How to Defeat Phalanx in Demons’ Souls

You will fight Phalanx in the Boletarian Palace. On your way to the boss battle, you will find plenty of Firebombs so make sure that you keep them handy since the boss is weak against fire damage and if you have plenty of Firebombs, the boss battle becomes really easy. If you can, get some Pine Resin as well before the fight. Once you have both Pine Resin and Firebombs, make your way to the boss arena, and traverse the fog.

Once you have started the boss fight, the boss will start to move around but since it is covered with Hoplites, you cannot directly attack the boss with your swords. Also, if you go in for dealing some damage, the Hoplites will start attacking you so while staying at a safe distance, start throwing Pine Resins at the boss. Watch out for wandering Hoplites as well. The boss will slowly start moving here and there so make sure that you are at a safe distance. Keep chucking Fireballs and if you want, use Pine Resin on your sword and start hitting the boss once most of the Hoplites are dead on the boss.

The best place to hit the boss with your melee attacks is the backside. Go in for some hits and when the boss starts to turn around, run behind it again and repeat the process. The boss will quickly go down with fire damage. Killing the boss will award you with 1270 Souls and Lead Demon Soul. This is not a difficult boss fight if you have all of the right items and Firebombs to fight the boss with. For more bosses, check out the guides linked below.
