Demon's Souls Storm King Boss Battle Guide

The Storm King is one of the coolest bosses in Demon’s Souls, and you can start seeing signs of this boss fairly early when you enter the Shrine of Storms Archstone. You will find the boss at the end of the Altar of Storms area, which is also the final area of the map. Storm King stays high in the sky and is surrounded by tons of smaller Manta Ray-like enemies, which you came across quite often in the area before. Storm King Boss Battle Guide – Demon’s Souls

As we mentioned earlier, Storm King does not come down to the ground, so you need to hit it in the air to defeat it. This could be a problem, especially if you are a melee build. If you are a Magic build, you can easily stick to your equipped Spells to take it down, but for melee builds, you will first need to pick up a special weapon called The Storm Ruler. As soon as the battle begins, avoid the Manta Rays in the sky above and make a run toward the opposite end of the arena. There are two Crystal Lizards here as well, but you should prioritize getting your hands on The Storm Ruler, which is stuck in the ground. Pick it up and equip it. Now you are ready to fight the Storm King.

The boss fight strategy is the same for both melee and ranged builds. The smaller Manta Rays fire a spear-like weapon at you from the air, so make sure that you start hitting them with your attacks as soon as possible to thin their numbers out. To avoid their attacks, there is a destroyed house on the opposite side where you find the sword. Head to this house and use its walls to protect yourself from incoming attacks. After you have killed most of the smaller ones, The Storm King will finally approach the arena and start attacking you as well. When it happens, use the same strategy that you were using with the smaller ones. Attack the Storm King, and then use the house walls to avoid the incoming spike attacks.
