Demonschool Release Delayed to Q1 2025 for Additional Development

Demonschool Delayed

Demonschool, the upcoming school-life tactics RPG from Necrosoft Games, has been delayed until Q1 2025. Initially scheduled for release on September 13, 2024, the game is being postponed allowing the development team more time to refine and expand the game, ensuring it meets their original vision.

The game, which draws inspiration from titles like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei as well as Italian horror cinema, is being published by Ysbryd Games, known for hits like WORLD OF HORROR and VA-11 HALL-A. In a statement released by Necrosoft Games, the developers expressed their commitment to delivering a game that feels fully realized, rather than rushing to meet the initial deadline.

The team explained that as the September release date approached, it became clear that they were at a crossroads. They could either release the game as planned, with less content than they had originally envisioned, or they could delay the release to early 2025 to fully flesh out the world and content. After careful consideration and discussions with their publisher, Ysbryd Games, the decision was made to delay the launch. The developers emphasized that while the game could have been released in September as a complete product, they felt it could be even more immersive and content-rich with additional time.

Necrosoft Games expressed gratitude to Ysbryd Games for providing the flexibility to delay the game, noting that such a move is uncommon in the current industry landscape. The developers also acknowledged the disappointment this delay may cause fans who have been eagerly awaiting Demonschool, but they are confident that the extra development time will result in a game that exceeds expectations.

To keep the community engaged during the extended development period, Necrosoft Games has committed to releasing a series of devlogs, both written and video, offering regular updates on the game’s progress. These updates will give you a deeper insight into the development process and the enhancements being made to the game. The first of these devlogs, which focuses on character status effects, is already available on Necrosoft’s official website and Demonschool’s Steam page.

Demonschool is now slated for a release in Q1 2025 across PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will support English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese languages. Previously, the developer also shared the second trailer for the game during The Mix Guerilla Collective 2023. If you are interested in playing Demonschool when it comes out, you can head over to the game’s official Steam page and add it to your wishlist to stay updated on all future developments.
