Below we have detailed the process for you by which you can easily unlock the Malfeasance Hand Cannon. Our Destiny 2: Forsaken Malfeasance Exotic Hand Cannon Unlock Guide ensures that you do not have to spend too much time on trying to find out how to find this exotic weapon so let us start with it right away.
Malfeasance Exotic Hand Cannon – How to Unlock
Unlocking the brand new Exotic Malfeasance hand cannon is not that hard if you exactly what you need to do. The major problem here lies as unlocking is a little bit luck based. To start the unlocking method, fire up a round of Gambit.
While playing the Gambit mode, there is a chance that a special Ascendant Primeval will spawn in place of the normal Primeval. When it happens, kill it and he will drop The Seething Heart. Interact with the Seething Heart and it will guide you to find and speak with the Drifter.
Go to him and he will give you a quest called City of Secrets. You must now head to the Dreaming City and kill 25 Taken bosses or minibosses having a yellow health bar. Once you have collected your 25th kill, you will unlock the next part, The Corrupted, of the quest.
For the next part, you need to enter a special version of The Corrupted Strike, which will be now marked, on your map. Start the strike and play until you reach Callum’s Cave. Complete the interaction with Drifter and you will receive an item Depleted Weapon Core. Take it back to the Drifter and you will gain access to the next part of the quest, Business as Usual.
For this part, you must play the Gambit mode again. You will need to bank some Motes and get some wins. Complete bars for each to reach the final part of the ques, Lights Out but you must try not to lose a Mote during the match. The penalty is very high for losing a Mote, which is x2, and you will lose progress as well.
For the last part of the quest, you will be required to kill 25 Guardians in Gambit mode. You can invade yourself or have others invade your world and then kill them. Using a friend for help in this will only reduce the process by one-third so it is better that you complete this in solo. In addition, if you manage to invade and kill all four guardians in a single session, this step will be completed instantly.
Once it is done, head back to the drifter who will give you the reward, Malfeasance. This is a very special hand cannon which can shoot tainted slugs which can burrow in your enemies and if you shoot more slugs in them, they will eventually explode. It also comes with the Corkscrew Rifling, heavy grip, Taken Predator trait that increases damage and an extended mag for less reloading and more shooting.
