Bungie has recently announced that it is adding new pinnacle weapons in Destiny with the upcoming Season of the Forge. Season of the Forge is the 5th season and is starting November 27.

Pinnacle Weapons – Destiny 2 Season 5

Our Destiny 2 Season 5 Pinnacle Weapons Guide details everything that you need to know about obtaining the upcoming Pinnacle Weapons in Destiny 2. Normally, these pinnacle weapons are exclusive for players who play Crucible. However, for the upcoming season, two of these weapons can also be obtained by playing Gambit and Vanguard strikes.

There are three pinnacle weapons coming with the new season.

Gambit Exclusive – Breakneck Precision Auto Rifle (Kinetic)

Breakneck is a Precision Auto Rifle and it can be obtained playing the Gambit mode. It comes with the Onslaught perk which increases its rate of fire as you stack Rampage effect. Damage is also increased with the increased rate of fire. To earn Breakneck, you will need to pick the quest from Drifter and complete all the following objectives.

  • Get 500 Auto Rifle Kills
  • Kill 150 Challenging Enemies
  • Get 100 Auto Rifle Multikills
  • Complete 40 Gambit matches

Once these four objectives are complete, make your way back to Drifter who will give you a fully masterworked Breakneck.

Vanguard Exclusive – Loaded Question High-Impact Fusion Rifle (Arc)

Loaded Question is a High-Impact Fusion Rifle and you will obtain it while playing the Vanguard mode. It comes with the Reservoir Burst unique perk. With this perk, when your battery is full, the next burst will deal extra damage to enemies and they will explode when they die. This weapon looks like a solid choice for strikes.

To obtain the Loaded Question pinnacle weapon, you will need to accept the quest from Zavala and then complete the following objectives.

  • Get 500 Fusion Rifle Kills in any strike or Nightfall
  • Get 1000 Arc Kills in any strike or Nightfall
  • Complete 40 strikes

Once done, head back to Zavala to get your shiny masterworked Loaded Question

Crucible Exclusive – The Mountaintop Lightweight Grenade Launcher (Kinetic)

The Mountaintop is a Lightweight Grenade Launcher that you can obtain through playing Crucible. It comes with the unique perk Micro-Missile. It allows you to fire a grenade in a straight line and it moves quite fast. It will explode as soon as it touches something. You can also use Sticky Grenades with it which give a more strategic approach to combat.

Obtaining The Mountaintop is a tedious process however, you can choose Non-Competitive or Competitive modes for achieving the objectives. There are three main objectives but depending on which mode you pick; your completion will take more or less time. Let us look at the objectives. Another important thing to know is that you must reach the Glory rank Brave in the season before attempting these objectives.

  • Objective A: Earn 750 Points by earning Grenade Launcher final blows.
  • Objective B: Earn 200 Points by rapidly defeating groups of two or more opponents.
  • Objective C: Earn 100 Points by getting Calculated Trajectory medals.

Objective A Detailed

For objective A, if you are choosing Non-Competitive, each kill will give you 3 points while each kill in Competitive will give you 10 points. You need 750 total points to complete the objective.

Objective B Detailed

For objective B, if you are going for Non-Competitive, each Double Play will give you 2 Points and subsequent kills after the Double Play will give you 1 point. If you are choosing Competitive, each Double Play will give you 5 points and subsequent kills after the Double Play will give you 2 points. You need 200 points to complete the objective.

Objective C Detailed

For objective C, if you are choosing Non-Competitive, each medal will give you 1 point while in Competitive, each medal will give you 4 points. You need 100 points to complete the objective.

Once all three objectives are complete and you have reached the Glory level Fabled within the season, head to Lord Shaxx to receive the Mountaintop Grenade Launcher.
