Season of the Chosen is now live in Destiny 2 and it brings a brand-new Season activity as well. This time around, the Seasonal Activity in the game is called Battleground and it requires you to defeat wave after wave of Cabal while completing some simple tasks and finally taking down a tough boss at the end of the mission. Our Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen Battleground Guide details everything that you need to know about completing the new seasonal activity in Destiny 2.
Kicking Off the Activity
After starting the seasonal activity, the mission begins with an initial cutscene and then you are thrown straight into the Battleground. Complete your first run of the activity and you will gain access to the Seasonal Artifact known as Bell of Conquests, H.E.L.M., War Table and get the Hammer of Proving. Before you unlock Battleground fully, you must first complete everything that needs to be done in the H.E.L.M.
Battleground Types
In Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen, you have two different Battlegrounds. One is set on Nessus while the second one is on Europa. There is actually a third one as well which is based on EDZ but it will unlock later as the season progresses. We have detailed the two available Battlegrounds below for you.
Nessus
The very first Battleground is on the Nessus. This begins with you fighting Cabal and your goal is to prevent them from pushing forward. Keep defeating the Cabal and new waves will continue to appear one after the other. When finally, the Keymaster appears, defeat him and grab the key that is dropped by him. You must collect three keys to keep fighting more waves of enemies until you collect three keys from Keymasters. Once you have three keys, head over to the terminal and use the keys on it to gain access to the next bit of the activity.
When the next encounter begins, you will fight more enemies and some of them will drop charges that you must collect. Keep collecting charges and then throw them at the Power Relay. This will damage the Power Relays. There are three Power Relays here that you have to destroy so keep collecting charges and throwing them at the Power Relays until they are destroyed. Once you have managed to destroy all three Power Relays, a boss will appear and you will need to defeat the boss to progress to the next stage of the activity.
The boss has a three-level HP bar and you must empty one health segment at a time to trigger the next phase of the battle. After one health segment is emptied out, the boss becomes immune in the mission and you have to clear all of the adds in the area to make the boss vulnerable again. The cycle is the same for all health bars to continue doing it until the boss is dead. Another important thing to remember here is that if you want to 3 Treasure Chests at the end of the activity, you must have the Hammer of Proving equipped otherwise you will not be able to open all three of the Treasure Chests.
Europa
This is the second Battleground found located on Europa. While it is mostly similar to the one found on Nessus, this one requires that you start killing the enemies to get the power charges and destroy the Power Relays and get to the boss. This Battleground skips the Keymasters section of the Nessus Battleground. Apart from this, it is exactly like the Nessus one.

Using the Hammer of Proving to Get all Treasure Chests
The Hammer of Proving will allow you to get access to all of the Treasure Chests at the end of the activity. For using the Hammer of Proving, you will need to insert a Challenger Medallion into the Hammer of Proving which requires you to have Cabal Gold. Cabal Gold is earned through Strikes, Crucible, Public Events, Gambit, and every thing else that you can do in the game. It is not hard to earn in the game.
Once you have a Challenger Medallion in your Hammer of Proving by spending 14 Cabal Gold, you can re-run the event and then smash the treasure chests at the end of the event to gain additional prizes.
