Devil Breakers Guide – Devil May Cry 5
Our Devil May Cry 5 Devil Breaker Guide details everything that you need to know about Devil Breakers in Devil May Cry 5.
What are Devil Breakers?
Devil Breakers are different arm attachments for Nero which he will find in different places spread around in the game or even purchase them from Nico’s trailer. If you do not have enough resources to purchase them directly from Nico, you will find plenty as you roam around the game. Be sure to check all hidden areas in every level.
There are eight different Devil Breakers in the game and each one will give Nero a unique combo move or attack. These attacks and combos are more powerful than normal attack and are an excellent addition to Nero’s offensive arsenal. At the start of the game, you only have a limited number of slots but you can always purchase more slots by upgrading the ‘Devil Breaker’ skill.
Types of Devil Breakers
We have detailed all eight Devil Breakers below and how to use them.
- Overture – With this Devil Breaker you can knock away enemies with a powerful electric blast or simply use it at a detonating device by first shoving it in your enemies. If you use it as a detonator, you will lose the Devil Breaker.
- Gerbera – With this Devil Breaker you can cancel attacks with shockwaves or fire a continuous focused energy beam on your enemies. You can aim the direction of this beam as well.
- Punch Line – Launch this Devil Breaker and watch it wreak havoc on the screen. It will move around the screen hitting enemies and landing powerful punches on them. If you want to move around quickly, fire one and quickly mount it.
- Helter Skelter – This Devil Breaker is the best one against shielded and armored enemies. It works very well against enemies which guard too much. It has the maximum piercing power among all Devil Breakers.
- Tomboy – Tomboy comes with a hidden power which helps you to power up Blue Rose and Red Queen. Set the power up duration according to your own will.
- Buster Arm – This is the most fragile Devil Breaker in Nero’s collection but also the most powerful one. It can kill enemies with one hit using the Devil Bringer ‘Buster’ technique.
- Rawhide – When it comes to range, no Devil Breaker can beat Rawhide. It has the widest attack and covers the most ground. You can use the metal whip to draw enemies closer as well as attack enemies from a great distance.
- Ragtime – This Devil Breaker gives Nero the ability to control time. Deploy it and time will slow down within a specific range. Bring pain to enemies caught within its range.
How to Change Devil Breakers
You cannot change Devil Breakers unless you go to a shop or break your current one. As you collect Devil Breakers, they are assigned to a specific slot and when the Devil Breaker breaks in the slot above them, the next one is automatically equipped. If you are not interested with your current Devil Breaker and do not want to break the current one, simply head to a shop or a Divinity Statue and change them.
If you do not have access to a statue or the shop, you can simply break your current one and lose it. This will automatically equip the next one in line. Make sure to keep your favorite ones in your inventory and destroy or store the ones you don’t need at Nico’s trailer. You have a limited number of slots even when fully upgraded. Do not carry around extra burden with you.
