Digital Dragons and Walkabout Games have announced the Digital Dragons Indie Celebration event which is being supported by Valve on Steam. The event will be held in May from 13-15 but will be a digital festival.
Digital Dragons will be curating a selection of 50 games for the event. The titles that will be showcased will be dedicated on the Steam homepage, with live demons, and developer interviews all throughout the three-day event, filled with livestreams. The last day of the event will be about the virtual award ceremony which will recognize and reward the top three games of the event.
Any publisher and developer that are wishing to participate int eh event and showcase their games can join the Indie celebration by submitting their titles online on this link. Registrations will be open this month from April 20-26, while a handpicked jury of industry professionals and experienced gaming journalists will select the games to participate in the event. The professionals include:
- Robert Purchese – Eurogamer
- Brett Makedonski – Destructoid
- Karol Zajączkowski – 11bit studios
- Jakub Rokosz – Fool’s Theory
- Jakub Wójcik – Indie Games Polska
Digital Dragons is a well known event in the gaming industry that is held every year in Krakow, Poland, and brings developers that showcase their indie titles from all around the world. Last year, the event brought in more than 2,000 people and 650 companies that participated in the event.
With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many events that have been canceled or postponed indefinitely this year. This includes the yearly E3 and many big events that were scheduled for this year. Digital Dragons have managed to plan out a digital festival having partnered with Valve’s Steam, which seems to be the way to go in the current situation.
