SOEDESCO Announces Console Release for Dog Duty, Coming Spring 2020

Review Dog Duty

SOEDESCO has announced that their upcoming real-time tactics game Dog Duty is releasing this spring on PC and has also confirmed a console release. Dog Duty is currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam and the game development is being carried out by indie developer Zanardi & Liza. Apart from PC, the game will also release on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

As the development of Dog Duty reaches its final stages, Leonardo Zimbres, founder of Zanardi & Lisa says:

It’s great to work together with SOEDESCO Studios on the development of Dog Duty and to see them bring the game to other platforms. I’m confident in their skills, as they’ve made great progress so far. The console version looks and plays well and I can’t wait for the release

In Dog Duty, you get to control a squad of three misfits who must free other survivors, gather up their arms and go all-out against the evil bigwig Octopus Commander and his army who are threatening world peace. The game offers real-time tactics as each character in the game comes with its own unique abilities and weaknesses. You can also different vehicles to fight the armies of the Octopus Commander.

Key features of Dog Duty include:

  • Assemble a 3-person squad and fight in Real Time Squid combat
  • Liberate outposts to cut-off weapon, armor and other octo-supplies
  • Defeat epic bosses and kill your way to the Evil Octopus Commander
  • Fight on top of your armored octo-frying vehicle while driving

Since the game’s release in Early Access, the developer has released several major updates for the title. Based on community feedback, Zanardi & Lisa is currently working hard to further the game. New playable characters and enemies have already found their way in the game. The squad can now be selected from 8 playable characters and the UI has been completely revamped as well.

Apart from this, more dialogues and encounters with both friendly and enemy NPCs have been added to the game. With the new radio deploy system, you can now engage with conquered and enemy outposts. With their new radio, enemy outposts will continue to tease players by sending them regular taunting messages unless they take them down and conquer them. The console release of Dog Duty will also ship with all of these new features and updates.

Zanardi & Lisa is a two-person indie developer based in Brazil and was founded back in 2011. The developer started with developing licensed video games for flash portals such as Nickelodeon, Spillgames, and NewGrounds. For the past five years, the couple has been working on Dog Duty and now they’ve teamed up with SOEDESCO to make the title a reality. Previously Dog Duty was only announced for PC but now the publisher has announced a console release as well.

We previewed the Early Access version of Dog Duty back when the game was released and we really liked the concept and the gameplay of the title. Now with the development entering its final stretch, we can look forward to an even better version of the game when the full version comes out in Spring 2020 on PC as well as consoles.
