Dying Light 2 Best Skills Guide
Now let’s take a look at some of the best skills you should unlock in both the Parkour and Combat skill tree.
Best Parkour Skills
Parkour skills unlock new abilities and are what make the game fun. Dying Light is known for its fluid movement and freedom to jump up and latch to any location, or skip from roofs to balconies, back to another roof. The best skills for Parkour are the ones that are agile, keep you on your feet, and quick enough to escape the clutches of zombies.
- High Jump: This is a must have skill that you should be looking to unlock as soon as you can as it will not only allow you to jump higher, but also reach those higher ledges.
- Fast Climb: Another really must have skill paired with High Jump which adds to your overall Parkour skills. Fast Climb will allow you to move faster on ledges, increasing that fluid movement we all love in Dying Light. Just make sure you have Firm Grip unlocked for this one.
- Safe Landing: While you can go for Active Landing which reduces fall damage, why not increase the height you can jump from without taking any damage? Safe Landing will let you increase the safe height from which you can land on the ground. Works best if you slip and fall down from a ledge or low rooftop.
- Slide Jump: A reoccurring skill form the previous game which let you slide past enemies or even through their legs. Slide Jump is another Parkour complimenting skill which makes lets you smoothly run past a group of enemies without hindering your momentum.
Best Combat Skills
While moving along with your parkour skills is what it may seme about, but it is only half the fun. This is where Combat skills come, bringing their unique ways of taking down enemies and hordes. In the previous game, combat skills are what made the game fun and satisfying.
- Head Stomp: A returning skill from the first game, that lets you stomp the head of a knocked down enemy to completely take them out. Head Stomp is a very important skill that most players will want, as it instantly takes out zombies, and also saves you from damaging you weapons and draining precious stamina.
- Dropkick: Another really powerful combat skill that lets you land a skull crushing kick while jumping. A must have skill that you shouldn’t sleep on
- Grapple: Grapple returns in Dying Light 2 adding another layer to the movement mechanic. Works best when fighting a lot of human enemies and want to grapple back to a higher position, and away from harm’s reach.
- Perfect Parry: Perfect Parry along with Perfect Dodge are both really good skills, but parrying takes the edge as it lets you stagger the enemy leaving them open for your counter attacks.
- Deflect Projectiles: Another really good skill that you can consider to add in your combat mechanic. This skill lets you deflect incoming projectiles and send them back towards the attacker.
