E3 2019 is around the corner and this is the biggest gaming event of the year where developers and publishers reveal what they have been working on and what they have planned for the future. Here we are going to talk about what you can expect to see at the electronic entertainment expo this year.
What To Expect At E3 2019
Companies from all over the world are going to attend the event and are going to reveal the games and hardware that they have been working on. Let break everything down and talk about what you can expect to see from each company at E3 2019.
Sony
One of the major upsets this year is that Sony is not going to attend E3 2019. This is something that has never happened before. Sony always has major announcements at the electronic entertainment expo but it seems that this year it is going to have its own event.
Microsoft
Microsoft has confirmed that its conference is going to be two hours long. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed that he is done with the final rehearsal for E3 and that 14 Xbox Game Studios games will be showcased at the event. It is safe to say that the company is getting ready to launch the upcoming Xbox and we are going to get plenty of exclusive games on the upcoming console.
Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we've ever had in the show. Fun times. #XboxE3

You can expect to see more of Gears 5, Forza and Halo Infinite at the conference. Microsoft has acquired plenty of new studios so you can expect to see plenty of new games at the conference. Phil Spencer has confirmed that Xbox Game Pass is coming to PC and you can learn more about that at E3 2019 as well.
This is a great initiative that has been very popular on Xbox. It is called the same on PC and Microsoft has confirmed that more than 100 titles will be available and more than 75 developers are on board.
Another service to keep an eye out for is Microsoft Project xCloud which is going to be taking on Google Stadia. We have seen demos of the service but we might get a beta release this time at E3 2019.
Last year Microsoft announced that it is working on architecturing next-generation hardware for the upcoming Xbox. While we might not get a complete reveal, Phil Spencer might talk about the performance of the next Xbox and what it will be capable of. What should be very interesting indeed.
Nintendo
Nintendo is expected to talk about the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield games this year. Nintendo is going to have a Direct event where we are going to hear about all the updates and games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch. You can also expect to hear about the new Fire Emblem game at E3 2019. Town is another game that we are excited to learn more about along with Animal Crossing.
We have been hearing rumors about an upcoming Nintendo Switch Mini and a premium version. These products are expected to release before the end of the year but it is unlikely that Nintendo is going to announce new hardware at E3 this year. Other than that, we could get footage of Bayonetta 3 and Metroid 4.
Ubisoft
Ubisoft is not going to release an Assassins Creed this time around but the company is going to show off the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint title. You can expect to see more gameplay and learn about some features that the game is going to offer. There are a couple of new titles that could be announced at the event.
We could get anything from a new Prince of Persia game to a new Watchdogs title. Splinter Cell is another title that has grown in demand over the past couple of months and you never know, we might hear about an upcoming Splinter Cell game. A Prince of Persia title is highly unlikely, we hope for it each year but never get an announcement.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 might not get a release date this year either but we might be able to see more of the game this year. Also, keep your fingers crossed for an Avatar game as well.
We might also hear about more content coming to Crew 2, The Division 2 or For Honor. The company is not going to showcase Skull and Bones this year as it has been delayed but there are plenty of announcements that we are excited about. There are 3 unannounced games that we will learn about at the electronic entertainment expo this year.
EA
EA is backing away from E3 and this year it is going to hold live stream ahead of E3. You can still expect to hear about the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and I would not be surprised if we get some gameplay footage of the game as well. You can also expect to learn more about what EA has in store for Apex Legends season 2.
We might hear about DLC for Battlefield 5 and Anthem. Dragonage is another game that might be revealed at E3 2019 but you should keep your fingers crossed for this one. We know that EA is working on a Need For Speed game that is supposed to release later this year but from what we have heard, it is not going to be showcased around E3.
Other than that, you can expect to hear about the upcoming EA Sports titles such as FIFA and Madden.
Square Enix
Square Enix has its own conference this year and you can expect to see the Final Fantasy 7 remake at the show. The company does own the studios that make Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. While it is too soon for a new Tomb Raider game I would not mind a Deus Ex reboot. Square Enix has confirmed that it will be announced its upcoming Avengers game which was confirmed to be in development back in 2017.
You can expect to learn more information regarding Dragon Quest 11 on the Nintendo Switch and we might hear about a global release for Dragon Quest Builders 2 which has already been released in Japan. Nier Automata is a critically acclaimed came that players loved and it is possible that a sequel is on the works.
Bethesda
Bethesda has its conference after Microsoft and you can expect to see more Doom Eternal at the show. Wolfenstein Young Blood is also coming later this year so you can expect to hear about that at the conference as well. It is expected that Bethesda is going to talk about what it is doing to improve Fallout 76.
You should not expect to see Starfield or The Elder Scrolls 6 at the event as Todd Howard has already confirmed that it is going to be a while before these games will be showcased.
Other Announcements
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games that will be shown off at E3 2019. We might even get a release date for the game this year. Activision might now be coming to E3 but one of its partners could showcase the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare game. Mario And Sonic At The Olympics game is another title that you should keep your eyes on for E3 this year.
We could also hear more about the upcoming Borderlands 3 game that is supposed to release later this year. Other games that we are excited about include Control, Dragonball Project Z, Code Vein and John Wick.
