Electronic Arts has announced to launch a new Need for Speed and Plants vs. Zombies games before the end of March in 2020. The publisher listed these two games and promised to launch both of them within the next fiscal year.
EA chief operating and financial offer Blake Jorgenson announced to investors that the games will be out before April of 2020.
We are now applying the strengths of our company to sharpen our execution and focus on delivering great new games and long-term live services for our players. We’re very excited about Apex Legends, the upcoming launch of Anthem, and a deep line-up of new experiences that we’ll bring to our global communities next fiscal year.
The puzzle game and the arcade racing game are a long time coming, as Plants vs. Zombies was last released back in February of 2016, while Need for Speed Payback launched in November of 2017.
We’re making adjustments to improve execution and we’re refocusing R&D. Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.
Though these titles wont bring huge numbers for the 2019- 2020 fiscal year as much as the FIFA franchise and the recent release of Apex Legends, but fans of the titles can have something to look forward to next year.
With that said, there is not much information about these two titles, but this is the first mention of these two entries for quite some time. We expect both the games to be fully revealed at this year’s E3, if not anytime soon.
EA talked about their recently released game Apex Legends and the upcoming game Anthem, promising that both the teams of Respawn and BioWare are working on additional content like the Battle Passes for Apex Legends, and post launch content for Anthem.
