EK Developing Water Blocks for AMD 6000 GPUs, 5000 CPUs

EK Water Blocks AMD 6000

With the reveals of both AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors and Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards done, many third-party companies have now started developing different supporting products to go with the CPUs and GPUs. EK is one of those companies that is developing water blocks for both AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs and Radeon RX 6000 GPUs.

With AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 and Ryzen 5000 promising to be a formidable high-end CPU+GPU combination, EK Water Blocks is anticipating many “pure AMD” DIY builds, and is giving final touches to a new line of full-coverage VGA water blocks, Socket AM4 CPU water blocks, and monoblocks for certain premium AMD 500-series chipset motherboards.

Frank Azor, AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions, announced yesterday that AMD has been working closely with its partners to deliver compatible holistic cooling solutions for the upcoming next-generation AMD ecosystem. The manufacturer showcased first water cooling solutions with a streamlined design for the Ryzen 5000 series and Radeon RX 6000 ecosystem.

The company showed off renders of some of these products in the development pipeline. The VGA full-coverage block in particular borrows many design cues from the recently announced RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT reference-design cards.

An illuminated Radeon logo sits on what seems like an acrylic top that has PV covering. The CPU block and motherboard monoblock feature large AMD logos. There are also radiators and Vardar fan variants in AMD’s favorite shade of red, with branding on the impeller hubs.

All three RX 6000 series graphic cards feature a similar board design and so, the EK water block should be compatible with Radeon RX 6900XT (300W), RX 6800XT (300W), and RX 6800 (250W).

AMD is releasing both its next-gen CPUs and GPUs from November. Currently, there is no word from EK about the availability of cooling solutions. AMD Ryzen 5000 series is launching on November 5th, while Radeon RX 6000 is officially coming on November 18th.
