Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin Boss Guide – How to Beat, Attacks

Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin Boss Guide

One of the toughest mini-bosses in the game includes Black Knife Assassin in Elden Ring, who lives true to his name as he disappears and forces you to locate him before it can locate you with lethal attacks. This Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin Boss Guide will show you what attacks the boss will hit you with and how to beat him.

Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin Boss Guide

The Black Knife Assassin can be found in the Deathtouched Catacombs, and Sage’s Cave in Altus Plateau. To help you in the battle, you can summon the Lone Wolves Ashes which will divert the boss’s attention away from you while you can go in for your own attacks.

If you decide to fight this boss solo, you will have to be very careful about the boss’ presence as it is key in avoiding his attacks. When the fight begins, there will be no sign of Black Knife Assassin, forcing you to roam around in search of him. This is the first mistake that the boss intends you to make as it will appear suddenly and stab you to deal you a ton of damage, before disappearing all over again.

The boss’ cloaking ability makes it invisible, but you can track him by looking and listening for his footsteps on the ground. To make him reappear before he does it himself, you need to be close to the footsteps to the point where you can reach with your own melee hits. This will force the Black Knife Assassin to reappear and opens up a great opportunity to perform a combo as the boss has very little Poise. Your goal here is to stagger the boss as this is the most effective way of taking the boss down before it can disappear all over again.

Although the Black Knife Assassin’s attacks are quick, they are pretty manageable when dodging or blocking. The main attacks it uses are the lunge, where it steps back and then lunges at you, and the spinning slash where he will spin his dagger around himself.

Although deadly with his attack and ability, the Black Knife Assassin does not require a ton of hits to drain his health completely. The fight can also be made easier if you force it to focus on the Lone Wolves Ashes, where you can simply reach the boss and take him down in a few minutes.
