There are a few requirements which include some preconditions and items that you will need to access the area where the boss can be found. Though you can find Mohg in the Mohgwyn Palace, you will first need to reach Leyndell capital which will in return allow you to get the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

Once you have been to Leyndell capital, your next task is to get the Haligtree Secret Medallion which is can be found in two parts. The first part can be found in Castle Sol, towards the northern part of Mountaintops of the Giants. The second part can be found southwest in Liurnia in the Village of the Albinaurics, specifically at the Site of Grace where hitting a pot will bring out Albus. This NPC will give you the second part of the medallion.

With the Haligtree Secret Medallion, you now have to go to the western part of the Consecrated Snowfield by following the light. This area contains a hidden portal that will take you straight to Mohgwyn Palace where this hidden demigod can be found and fought against. All that is left at this point is to go through the portal that takes you to a dark cave and exits out to where the palace is located. Inside the Palace, head to Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum where you can now fight Mohg Lord of Blood.
