Epic Games Store Now Has Cloud Save Feature for Some Games

Epic Game Store Cloud

Epic Games Store has finally added the cloud save feature on the gaming store, but it is still for a selected number of games. Right now, the feature is only running for one game called Moonlighter. Epic Games does say that intends put more work on the feature before it can be available to most of the games in the library.

A player noticed the cloud save option for Moonlighter and shared the screenshot on Twitter. Tim Sweeny, the CEO of Epic Games responded to the tweet saying,

Cloud saves are enabled for a couple of new games right now. We have a bit more work to do before rolling it out more widely.

Cloud saves allow players to upload their game saves online on a cloud on remote servers. These save files can then be accessed anytime. Cloud saves are a useful feature that allows you to switch from one device to the other if you are playing a game on multiple platforms. Epic’s rival Steam already has a cloud save feature since more than a decade when it was the first to implement the feature in its store back in 2008.

One of the reasons why Epic Games Store receives so much backlash is because of the cloud save feature that the store launched without. However, that is soon going to change, as Epic is working on the feature, and it seems like cloud saves will be available in the coming months.

Tim Sweeney’s comment about more work needed on the feature assures that it is coming sometime soon, and guarantees that they want to make it useful and quite possibly bug-free for players. We might also see more games that will have the cloud save feature enabled on them in the coming weeks.
