In recent development, Epic Games is now suing Norwich’s Fortnite Live Festival which took place last weekend and turned out to be a complete disaster.
As reported by Eurogamer, Fortnite developer Epic Games is not happy over the disaster and wants compensation as the event ruined Fortnite’s reputation due to poor management of the event organizers.
Eurogamer further states that the ticket prices were too high in the first place and in return the fans were treated with terrible attractions with most of the paying families left in the cold waiting for their turn in cold. The organizers did not bother refunding all the families’ money and now the Facebook page for the event is also offline.
Epic issued an exclusive statement to Eurogamer which stated
The quality of our player experience is incredibly important to us, whether it’s inside the game or at official public events like last year’s Fortnite Pro-Am. Epic Games was not in any way associated with the event that took place in Norwich and we’ve issued a claim against the organisers in the High Court of London.
The event was not even related to Fortnite despite using the game’s name, logo and characters extensively throughout the venue. To make matters worse, none of it was licensed as well. Epic Games is not letting the event organizers easy this time around and is planning to take legal action against them.
Fortnite is currently running a special set of challenges while fans of the game wait for Season 8. Season 7 is about to end soon and Epic Games is running the Overtime Challenges which can give fans Season 8 Battle Pass for free if they manage to complete 13 of these special challenges.
