EVGA Enters the Capture Device Market with the new XR1, World’s First OBS Certified Capture Device

EVGA has revealed the XR1 Capture device and it is World’s first capture device that comes with OBS certification. It is the first device ever to be certified by Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), the popular open-source streaming platform.

The EVGA XR1 Capture Device allows you to share the world with 4K HDR Pass-Through Mode – Record at 1080P/60FPS while you game at 4K/60FPS with HDR. Also features an Advanced Pass-Through Mode that allows you to switch to 144Hz refresh rate + HDR with the press of a button.

The Capture device also features customizable ARGB LEDs, which can even act as a way for users to see their audio levels at a glance. The build-in control dial lets the user easily control the audio without having to make any changes in your OBS scene.

EVGA says that the XR1 capture device has been built for a wide range of users ranging from content professionals to streamers and gamers. XR1 is a perfect choice for any gamer that utilizes OBS and a capture card helps lowers the loads on the PC hardware.

The card connects via a USB 3.0 Type-C connection. For video input and capturing audio, the XR1 uses HDMI 2.0 and supports up HDR at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps). The XR1 is completely plug-and-play and it doesn’t require any drivers to operate. Connect it to your machine and straightway you will be able to set up your stream in OBS.

For connectivity, the XR1 Capture card features two 3.5 mm audio ports, a USB Type-C port, and two HDMI ports, which allows for the up to 4K HDR pass-through mode to be supported. According to OBS, certified devices are put through a series of tests to ensure complete compatibility with their platform. At the moment, the XR1 card is the only device certified by OBS.
