Evo 2019 is taking place in August later this year but the final Evo 2019 has been announced and we see some new titles in the lineup this year. However, fans will be sad to know that Super Smash Bros. Melee is no longer part of this mega event,
Evolution Championship Series is the world’s biggest fighting game championship series and like every year, it is taking place this year as well. The event is happening in August but the organizers of the event announced the participating games in a livestream last night.
Evo organizers went live on Twitch last night from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and announced which titles are taking part in Evo 2019 and it turns out that this year we have many new additions to the list however a fan favorite title is no more part of it.
The complete line up for Evo 2019 is listed below.
- Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition (Sunday Main Stage)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Sunday Main Stage)
- Tekken 7 (Sunday Main Stage)
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle (Sunday Main Stage)
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- SoulCalibur 6
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Samurai Shodown
- Under Night In-Birth
You can see that this year we have a lot of titles in the tournament. During the Sunday Grand Finals, we have four titles this year instead of last year’s five title. This decision was probably to better cater to wind up the event within the allocated time.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is no more part of Evo 2019 and in its place we have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate instead. In addition to Super Mario Bros. Ultimate, we now have SoulCalibur 6, and Mortal Kombat 11 joining the Evo lineup as well.
If you want to participate in Evo 2019 or simply go to Last Vegas to spectate, Evo registration page is now live so head there and sign up. If you do not want to head there live, you can simply watch Evo 2019 matches when the tournament begins in August.
