THQ Nordic has announced the release date of the upcoming turn-based RPG Expeditions: Rome. According to the latest press release, Expeditions: Rome will release on January 22, 2021. For PC via Steam. Expeditions: Rome is set in an alternative historical setting featuring a 40+ hour campaign across Europe and northern Africa.
The game emphasizes intense turn-based battles where you will need to level up yourself and your companions, manage your legion, explore, loot and craft new items in order to become the best of the best. You step in the game as a young Legatus whose father was murdered by an unknown political opponent forcing you to escape Rome and take refuge in a military campaign.
The game features some of the most iconic settings such as the coasts of Greece to the deep forests of Gaul. Your choices will determine how the people of the world view you and Rome. You will have a wide variety of choices where you will be able to choose between an iron fist or a silver tongue.

- Create your own Roman Legatus! Customize your character’s look, gender, class, and skills to match your playstyle and role-playing fantasy
- Engage in tactical turn-based combat powered by an extensive skill-based action system where every weapon changes your potency on the battlefield

- Explore a beautifully realized, colorful world across many different environments, including North Africa, Greece, Gaul, and Rome herself

- Level up each character and select from a variety of skills and passive abilities to explore a wide range of tactical options
- Loot, Craft, and Equip a variety of weapons, armors, and tactical items to customize your game even further, providing a tremendous range of tactical options for each character
- Lead your legion on 3 extensive war campaigns across Greece, North Africa, and Gaul. Recruit legionaries, improve your warcamp, conquer regions, exploit resources, and defend your territories as you lead your legion to victory
Previously, THQ Nordic also announced the Expeditions: Rome Music Cover Contest which is a competition where the publisher wants musicians to download the game’s OST and submit their very own interpretations of the tracks. Three music sheets are available for download that interested musicians can download and submit their own variations in a chance to win the first prize of $500 and other goodies. Expeditions: Rome is releasing on PC via Steam on January 22, 2021, where it will set you back $44.99.
