Spiderweb Software, the developers behind many indie titles for the past 25 years, has announced its brand new project Geneforge 1 – Mutagen. Geneforge 1 – Mutagen is a new, unique fantasy role-playing game that is slated for a Q1 2021 release on Windows, Mac, and iPad.
Spiderweb details Geneforge 1 – Mutagen as one of the most open-ended role-playing games available. You will be able to choose between a host of rival factions and then use your magic or deadly pets to crush your enemies. Apart from this, you will also have trickery, diplomacy, and stealth at your disposal which will allow you to win the game without attacking a single enemy.
Your ultimate goal is to destroy the final boss or if you want, you can even switch sides and join him. The game offers solo gameplay, or you can create your very own army of custom-made mutant monsters. The game is set in the world of Shapers who are wizards that can create life. They can create your servants, pets, tools, and even a beast to fight alongside you.

Anything created by these Shapers must obey their masters or else they are destroyed. However, not all of these creations remain loyal to the Shapers who create them so you will need to find and destroy such creations who want freedom. Geneforge 1 – Mutagen is essentially a remaster of the 20-year old indie classic Geneforge. The game recently had a successful Kickstarter earlier this year and promises a complete remake and greatly expanded the recreation of the original game.
