In this FFXIV Shadowbringers Aether Currents Location Guide, we will detail all the locations where you can find the Aether Currents. There are various maps in the new expansion which brings the Aether Currents scattered around the locations. Our guide will detail their exact location coordinates for you to go and collect.

Each zone in the game has a number of Aether Currents. Collecting an Aether Current of a zone will give you the ability to fly in the zone. Fling is like a reward for getting to know each of the regions the game has.

While Aether Currents are specifically placed in the zones, and waiting for you to be collected, there are other ways to get the Aether Currents as well. Not all Aether Currents can be collected from exploring the zones, but some are tied to quests.

Playing through the game will unlock quests that will reward you with the remaining Aether Currents. So if you are looking to get all of them, you have to complete the quests as well. But don’t worry, this guide will also show you the quest location coordinates.

To track the number of Aether currents in your collection, you can go to the Aether Currents tab in the Travel side menu, at the bottom of your screen.

Below we have listed all the Aether Currents locations on each of the zones in the game. Additionally, we have also listed the quest locations that reward you with Aether Currents.

Kholusia Aether Currents

All the locations of the Aether Currents in Kholusia are listed below:

Aether Current #1

The Aether Current is near the Cracked Shell Beach.

Coordinates: 34.4, 32.5

Aether Current #2

This one can be found at The Bright Cliff, just north of the Stilltide outpost and on a cliff.

Coordinates: 35.0, 24.1

Aether Current #3

This one can be found in the Gatetown are that is south of the region. It is behind the large rock.

Coordinates: 23.7, 36.7

Aether Current #4

This one can be found in Seagazer area, which has a lighthouse.

Coordinates: 17.6, 37.1

Aether Current #5

This one can be found at the southwest of the Wright settlement. Go down at the ebach and jump on the rock.

Coordinates: 7.6, 34.0

Aether Current #6

This Aether Current can be found west at the Gatekeeper, right at the gate at the big lift.

Coordinates: 11.0, 21.0

Aether Current #7

This one can be found south of the Amity Outpost.

Coordinates: 20.2, 21.1

Aether Current #8

This one can be found north of the Amity Outpost.

Coordinates: 18.9, 13.4

Aether Current #9

This one can be found if you to far east of the Amity Outpost, all the way till the edge near The Wet Whistle.

Coordinates: 34.1, 17.2

Aether Current #10

This Aether Current can be found in the mine. Go to the northeast mine which is called The Duergar’s Tewel

Quest Aether Currents in Kholusia

There are five quests in Kholusia that reward you with Aether Currents upon completion. The quests are listed below:

Lakeland Aether Currents

All the locations of the Aether Currents in Lakeland are listed below:

Aether Current #1

This Aether Current can be found at The Exarch Gate, west of The Crystarium

Coordinates: 33.6, 28.8

Aether Current #2

This one can be found a little northwest from The Exarch Gate, and to the east of The Belt.

Coordinates: 30.1, 24.0

Aether Current #3

This one can be found at Fort Job. It will be on the wall between the purple tents.

Coordinates: 35.5, 21.5

Aether Current #4

This one is also at Fort Job. Go up the stairs and up the platform

Coordinates: 37.3, 21.1

Aether Current #5

This one is north of Fort Job and just below the Rak’tika Greatwood. It is on the edge of the small rock mountain.

Coordinates: 34.6, 17.0

Aether Current #6

This one is north of the last Aether Current. It will be placed on the wooden platform

Coordinates: 35.4, 11.1

Aether Current #7

This can be found northwest of Fort Job. Right at the entrance of a narrow canyon or crevasse of rock.

Coordinates: 32.0, 14.6

Aether Current #8

This one can be found west of Fort Job at Radisca’s Round.

Coordinates: 18.6, 18.4

Aether Current #9

This one can be found at The Ostall Imperative, which is west of Radisca’s Round. It will be down on a ledge.

Coordinates: 9.4, 17.7

Aether Current #10

This one can be found at the big tower in The Ostall Imperrative

This one is near the spawn location, north of the point where you can go to Lakeland.

This is straight east from Lydha Lran. The Aether will be between the red mushrooms.

This one is northeast of Lydha Lran at the lake, and on one of the houses.

Coordinates: 16.8, 24.7

Aether Current #4

This one is northwest from Lydha Lran. It will be on the hilld with the crystals.

Coordinates: 10.5, 24.8

Aether Current #5

This one is at the Good Jenanna’s Grace, where it will be on the rocky mountain on a ledge.

Aether Current #6

This Aether is in Pla Enni, where it will be on top of a purple mushroom

Coordinates: 21.7, 4.4

Aether Current #7

This one is also near Pla Enni, but a little south outside the cave right at the edge.

Aether Current #8

This one is at the Wolekdorf hub, but a little northeast where it will be on a rock

This one is southwest of Wolekdorf, at the Sextuplet Shallow

This one is also southwest of Wolekdorf at the big castle that looks to be in the water.

This one is northeast of Mord Souq, where it will be behind the Samiel’s Backbone area.

This one is southeast of Mord Souq, where it will be on the face of a cliffside at the desert

Aether Current #4

This one can be found to the west of The Inn at Journey’s Head. Go straight towards the far west of the this region.

Coordinates: 24.7, 28.0

Aether Current #5

This one can be found south of The Inn at Journey’s Head, near The Derrick.

Coordinates: 28.3, 32.2

Aether Current #6

To get this one, come in from the Lakeland entrance, and into the abandoned mining area, and head East. The Aether Current will be on a wooden platform.

Aether Current #7

From the town of Twine, take the railroad tracks heading west and you will come across the Aether Current.

Aether Current #8

This one is west of Mord Souq, but you can only get there by a cave from the far west entrance near Amarokeep

Aether Current #9

This one is found in Ladle that is south of the Twine. The Aether is on the damage platform

Aether Current #10

This one can be found at The Pristine Palace of Amh Malik. It is southeast of Ladle

This one is at the entrance from Lakeland, and it will be northeast. Look for it up on a tree branch

This one is also close to the entrance from Lakeland. It is east at the Fort Gohn.

This one is northeast from Slitherbough.

Coordinates: 19.3, 22.5

This one is very far northeast from Slitherbough. It will be in the corner at one of the tree stump.

Coordinates: 9.0, 17.9

This one is far west of Slitherbough where it will on some Lilly pads.

Coordinates: 4.2, 25.0

Aether Current #6

This one is northeast of Slitherbough, at the Bowrest.

This one is also northeast of Slitherbough, near the Bowrest.

This one is north of Fanow, at the log you take to exit Fanow.

North of Fanow are temple areas. The Aether can be found between the temples.

The first one is right at the entrance from Kahlusia, slightly south east from the entrance.

This one is also near the entrance, but you have to go in the cave of Where the Dry Return.

This one is to the east of  The Ondo Cups, at The Crock of Pearls cave.

Coordinates: 39.5, 16.8

Aether Current #4

This one is south east of The Ondo Cups, near the Workbench.

Coordinates: 35.3, 23.1

Aether Current #5

This one is underneath The Ondo Cups just a little west.

Coordinates: 28.2, 15.9

This one is to the west and a little north from The Ondo Cups, near the Walls of the Forgotten

To get the Aether Current, head underneath form The Ondo Cups, and then head west

This one is far west from The Ondo cups, at The Caliban Gap.

This one is also far west from the Ondo Cups. You have to take the path that leads underneath the Ondo Cups.

This one is far west from The Ondo cups, at The Caliban Gap.
