Final Fantasy 7 Remake Post-Game Guide – What to do After Beating the Game

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Post-Game Guide

Final Fantasy 7 Remake might take some to finish however after beating the main story of the game, there is still tons of stuff that you can do in the game. This Final Fantasy 7 Remake Post-Game Guide will detail what you can do after you beat the main story of the game and you still want to invest more time in Midgar along with your favorite characters. All the activities detailed below can be done after you have seen the credits screen at the end of the main story.

Post-Game Guide – Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Our Final Fantasy 7 Remake Post-Game Guide details everything that you need to know about post-game content in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Completing the Main Story

Final Fantasy 7 – Remake comes with plenty of content that takes a lot of time to complete initially. You can complete the game depending on your skill level and it takes anywhere around 35-40 hours if you complete every side quest that comes in your way. Some of these are out of the way but still, you can complete them during your first playthrough easily. After you finally push to the end and end the story, you will see the final ending credits and then you will be able to access the endgame content of the game.

Level Cap

Your character will max out at Level 50. There is no going past beyond the Level 50 mark in the game. You can continue to purchase more spells and weapon upgrade SP using manuscripts but beyond that, you cannot move past the Level 50 mark as currently, this is the level cap in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Collecting the Missing Items

There are tons of items for you to collect in Midgar and I am sure that you will miss plenty of these items during your first playthrough unless you are strictly following a guideline of the game. These items range from Materia, weapons and armor and are scattered throughout Midgar in different hidden chests. These are missable if you do not collect them during your first playthrough however nothing is permanently missable in the game.

Beat the main story of the game and you will unlock the mission selection screen which will allow you to re-visit any mission in the game that you have already completed in the game. You should note that Final Fantasy 7 Remake follows a linear storyline and once you clear a chapter, you cannot return to this chapter unless you beat the game and use this mission selection screen. This is a great addition and you can easily collect all of the missed items in all chapters of the game this way after ending the main game.

Play the Hard Mode

Hard Mode is unlocked only after the beat the main story of the game. Complete the game on normal difficulty and this will later give you access to the Hard mode. In Hard mode, you will have all your character progression from your first playthrough. Sadly, you cannot start a ‘fresh’ Hard Mode game. You can take it as a New Game+ Hard mode where all your progression from the previous mode is carried forward with you. The enemies you encounter in the Hard Mode are balanced according to your level and items so that game is not really easy during this mode if you were wondering that this might make the game easier to complete on Hard Mode.

Play the Shinra Combat Simulator

If you head to The Drum in Chapter 17, check outside the elevator leading into The Drum and you will find the Shinra Combat Simulator. Here you will find some extra end-game bosses and challenges to complete which also serve as the endgame content of the game currently.

Apart from this, there is not much that you can do once you have beaten the main game of the story. You can re-visit any chapter you like, find those lost items, tackle the Shinra Combat Simulator and complete the pending side quests. Purchase those last few spells and push your character to level 15 limit. Apart from this, your journey has pretty much concluded in Midgar.
