In this Fire Emblem: Three Houses Tournament Guide, we will show you how you can and participate in the Tournaments. Tournaments are held at the Training Ground where you can participate in a fight of swords, lances, and axes. In addition, you can also fight your house with any other house in the Officer’s Academy.
Tournaments not only train your students but also give you rewards in the game. Tournament grounds can be found north at the starting dorm areas in the Monastery. Tournaments take place every calendar year in the game. When a tournament opens, you can enter one of your student at a time.

How to Unlock Tournaments
The tournament can be unlocked when you reach Chapter 4 of the game and complete the “Only the Bold” side quest. In this quest, Caspar will want to fight in the tournament. Choose the fighter that you think can win with the type of weapon tournament that is going on. After winning, you can participate in other tournaments as well.
How to Participate in Tournament
If you want to participate in the Tournament, you have to go to the Visiting Grounds after having unlocked the Tournament. Talk to the Tournament Officer who will tell you the theme of the tournament.
Once you have confirmed your participation, it will cost you one activity point. You should always pick students that have unique weapons and abilities and the ones that can fight in the type of tournament you enter in.
How Tournaments Work
Depending on the game or the calendar, there are different types of tournaments that happen in the Officer’s Academy. There is the Beginner Sword Tournament that requires Sword Level C+, and rewards you with the Steel Sword.
Other Tournaments feature other types of weapon themese like the House vs House Lance Tournament. This tournament requires Lance Level B and will reward you with the Intermediate Seal.
You can also have the Intermediate Level Axe Tournament that requires Axe level B and will reward you with the Steel Axe+
Finally, you can have the House versus House Sword Tournament where you will need Sword Level B+ and will be reward with the Intermediate Seal after victory. After each opponent your student defeat, you will be rewarded with money.
