Rockstar Games has finally released the very first trailer for GTA 6, the upcoming title in its long-running open-world crime franchise and it looks gorgeous. Not only does it confirm the rumors of the return to Vice City, but it also appears to feature a Bonnie and Clyde-like character duo who seem like the main protagonists of the upcoming title. The in-game engine appears to be doing its magic as it showcases a city bustling with activity whether it is the main city, outskirts, or the ocean surrounding the islands.
Before we jump into additional details, let’s have a look at the very first GTA 6 trailer below:
While Rockstar Games has not shared any further details at this point, the words Vice City clearly appear in the trailer which confirms the location of GTA 6 as Vice City. At the beginning of the trailer, we can see a female protagonist inside a prison facility which at the end of the trailer is shown with her male partner robbing a store and both of them might be the main characters of the title. Then again, we are just guessing from the trailer, and we could be only controlling the female character and the male character could be her love interest or a crime partner.
The rest of the trailer shows a massive Vice City which looks beautiful and highly detailed. We all remember that Vice City was surrounded by a large ocean with different big water bodies between the islands as well and we are guessing that this will be the situation here as well. Until the full map is revealed, we are not sure if the map is similar to the original one or if new areas have been added to it as well. There is a forest-like area with a water body and we can see a lot of flamingos there and there is also a swampy-looking area with someone driving an airboat through it. The details of forests and areas outside of the main cities look a lot like that in Red Dead Redemption 2, so we can expect some similarities in animal behavior, designs, and much more in GTA 6 as well.
The beaches are live with people, and we can spot a lot of different character models this time around. They also appear to be very highly detailed when it comes to their skin, hair, and body shine. We hope that this is how the final game delivers because the character models in the trailer look amazing. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the Vice City nightlife in clubs, streets, and everywhere else. There is also a small section of a lowrider meet-up with cars having huge rims and colorful designs, so car customization is going to be huge in the game. Another thing that is prominent in the trailer looks like videos from some sort of an in-game social media platform.
As of now, Rockstar Games has not shared any additional details apart from what we can extract from the trailer. We do know that GTA 6 is officially launching in 2025 and we can now expect regular news and reveals from Rockstar Games. The last release by Rockstar Games in the franchise was GTA 5 which was released back in 2013 however it managed to cover three generations of consoles since it was a huge hit.
