Fortnite Chapter 2 is Now Live, Brings New Map, Tons of New Mechanics

Fortnite Chapter 2

After going silent over the weekend after its Season X end event, Epic Games has finally released a fresh new start for Fortnite in the form of Chapter 2. Instead of simply calling it Season 11, Epic Games has renamed it to Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 which indicates that this is a brand new start for Fortnite.

Judging by the amount of new mechanics and things that have arrived in Fortnite, we can see why this is a brand-new start for Fortnite. To begin with, the game now has a brand new map for you to explore. After Season X’s final event, the whole map was destroyed and now the game boasts a brand new map with new locations and points of interest. In total, there are 13 new locations to explore and kill other players in.

Before this update, water bodies in the game were nothing more than an annoying area where you would be slowed down and unable to do different tasks however with the new update, water bodies now play an important role in the game. Chapter 2 introduces all-new mechanics of swimming, fishing, and motorboats which will make these water bodies much better than before.

Apart from this, players will now be able to pick up and carry their downed teammates to safety and even revive them with the new bandage bazooka. The game now also features overhauled visuals which means that the game is now more pleasing to look at. Players can also use different environmental hazards to their advantage such as gas pumps can be shot to make them explode and kill entire teams at the same time.

Players can also hide in the all-new hideouts mechanic now in places. Places like haystacks and dumpsters can be used as temporary hiding places and when someone passes by, you can ambush them and instantly eliminate them by catching them off-guard. This will increase tactical gameplay in Fortnite giving players options that were not available before.

In addition, a new Battle Pass has also been announced which has also been revamped and promises less grinding and more rewards. The new XP system ensures that players earn more rewards and have to grind much less when compared to Season X which turned out to be a major grind fest.
