Epic Games released Fortnite back in 2017 as a free-to-play game with its singleplayer experience Save the World purchasable with Founder’s Packs with a promise of it becoming a free-to-play game when the game leaves Early Access. With its online free-to-play Battle Royale mode literally exploding all over the world with massive success and officially kickstarting the battle royale genre, Save the World was overshadowed and very few people actually played it.
Today, after almost three years of the game staying in Early Access, Fortnite is now out of Early Access and this includes Save the World. With Battle Royale mode currently in its Chapter 2 Season 3, the game is still going pretty strong however Save the World is still locked behind a paywall which means that anyone who wants to play it, still has to purchase it separately. It is now the premium singleplayer experience of the game. Everyone who purchased the Founder’s Packs has now been upgraded to the next level of benefits.
Epic has also detailed that now that the mode is out of Early Access, the updates will be pretty less however players will now get seasonal ventures, season-long adventures, and much more which will ensure that the players get much more out of the mode rather than the Early Access repetitive content. In addition to this, brand new Save the World packs will also be available for purchase starting Thursday which will feature special visual customization options for players to use in the mode.
The main story of Save the World is now complete however Epic Games says that they will further expand the mode sometime down the path with more options. For the time being, players can experience the all-new Venture’s season and playing the Save the World season event.
