Fortnite Update Brings Map Changes, Return of Risky Reels

Fortnite Risky Reels

Epic Games has just released a Fortnite update that brought in some map changes, and the return of Risky Reels location. This might be nostalgic for many Fortnite players who may be familiar with Risky Reels, which used to be right at the top of the old map, slightly towards the east.

The new season has not come without many drastic changes. The most obvious is the fact that the whole map is underwater now, and the season is largely based on water-based activities like riding boats and fishing loot sharks. Most of the named locations are submerged underwater, while other locations are halfway in the water.

Risky Reels which was previously underwater has now returned as the water continues to drop. The new update saw the return of the location as players have reported accessing the location after updating their games. This strongly supports the speculation that the water is slowly draining away and the land is going to reappear sooner or later. My guess is that as the season progresses, we might see more locations returning again.

According to rumors, the next locations that are going to appear slowly include Craggy Cliffs and Dirty Docks. Both locations are in the north part of the map.

Fortnite is known for its subtle and mysterious map changes. This is one of the main reasons why the game is still quite popular and keeps the player base returning to play the game. Before any season ends, such changes set up the upcoming season as time progresses. This seems to be the exact case for Season 3, which might be setting up something new for Season 4. However, it is too early to even guess what Epic Games has planned for Fortnite and its Season 4 when it arrives.
