Makeshift Weapons allow you to turn normal weapons into more powerful versions of them. This includes weapons like the Pump Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and the Revolver.

How to Upgrade Weapons

There two types of Makeshift Weapons that you can transform or upgrade. These new weapons types are the Mechanical Weapons and the Primal Weapons. Mechanical Weapons are your normal weapons like the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, which you can upgrade by using Mechanical Parts to make them powerful.

When looking for Mechanical Parts to upgrade Mechanical Weapons, you will have to find modern technology like vehicles such as cars, trucks, and boats to harvest parts from them.

On the other hand, this season also introduces the Primal Weapons which are come with unique features and high damage output. Primal Weapons first need to be converted by using Animal Bones on Makeshift Weapons. Once you have done that, you can upgrade with the right material to make them powerful.

To get the Animal Bones to upgrade Primal Weapons, you will need to hunt the animals that you find on the map. Alternatively, you can also purchase from the NPCs found all throughout the map.
