Step into the neon-soaked arenas of FRENZIES, the stylishly slick multiplayer shooter that challenges you to embrace your wildest selves and dominate the competition. Developed by Near Light, a nDreams studio, FRENZIES is set to bring its chaotic charm to Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2.
FRENZIES combines nDreams’ award-winning gunplay, seen in titles like Fracked and Synapse, with the frenetic energy of multiplayer mayhem. You are thrown into a winner-takes-all showdown that’s as unpredictable as it is exhilarating. Each match consists of five rounds, featuring a chaotic mix of iconic and unconventional, solo and team-based round types. From the tense “Red Light, Green Light” to the absurdly entertaining “Glitter Pig,” the variety ensures that no two games are the same. The dynamic nature of the game keeps the experience fresh, with momentum capable of shifting in an instant, offering every player the chance to shine.

FRENZIES will open its arena doors for the first time during its Closed Alpha period, beginning later this month. This period offers you the unique opportunity to try out a small slice of the full game before its release and provide some valuable feedback to the developer as well. Data collected will be used to fine-tune the full release of FRENZIES. If you are interested, you can join the FRENZIES community and register for the Closed Alpha sessions via their official Discord channel.
Paul Mottram, Head of Studio at Near Light, shared his enthusiasm for the game, stating, “The last thing you can accuse FRENZIES of is being boring. Taking inspiration from classics like Quake and Unreal Tournament, we wanted to inject some unpredictable excitement back into the genre while retaining what makes VR shooters so special. We think FRENZIES nails that sweet spot.”
The Closed Alpha will be crucial for refining the game’s mechanics and ensuring that the chaotic fun of FRENZIES remains balanced and engaging. You will get a firsthand look at the game’s innovative approach to VR multiplayer shooters, experiencing the seamless fusion of fast-paced action and strategic gameplay.
With its vibrant arenas, eclectic round types, and emphasis on unpredictability, FRENZIES promises to deliver an adrenaline-fueled experience that keeps you coming back for more, eager to dominate the chaos and emerge victorious.
Additional details on the full release of FRENZIES will be announced at a later stage. As of now, you can prepare yourself for jumping into the upcoming Closed Alpha on July 18, 2024. It is slated for release on Meta Quest and PS VR2.
