BouncyBrain Studio has officially announced its brand-new title FULL STEAM: Fluffy X Machina (FXM). BouncyBrain Studio was founded by seasoned animators with credits on blockbusters like Kung Fu Panda, The Mario Movie, and Minions and their latest project is nearing its completion. FULL STEAM: Fluffy X Machina is a roguelite beat-’em-up and it is slated for launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, with a free demo coming soon to Steam.
Set in a vibrant diesel-punk universe, FXM invites you to take control of critter pilots and their powerful mechs as they battle the evil megacorporation Krok Inc. The game combines fast-paced roguelite mechanics with colorful characters, heartfelt storytelling, and standout voice performances—a testament to the team’s background in Hollywood animation. The gameplay offers a unique twist on the beat-’em-up genre. You can seamlessly switch between nimble critter combat and devastating mech attacks, tailoring their approach to suit various scenarios. Designed for both solo and multiplayer experiences, FXM allows you and up to three other players to team up, either online or locally, to take on procedurally generated missions, upgrade the mechs, and confront the Seven Deadly Bosses.
Each playthrough promises a fresh challenge thanks to randomly generated enemy upgrades, weapons, and encounters. You can unlock a variety of mech types, from agile Ninjas to heavy-hitting Mobile Fortresses, each with distinct playstyles and signature moves. Beyond its campaign mode, FXM features PvP sparring arenas where up to four you can battle for supremacy in chaotic matches.
The game’s mix of strategy, high-energy combat, and character-driven storytelling reflects the developers’ passion for creating innovative indie experiences. Drawing on their expertise in animation, BouncyBrain Studio aims to deliver a game that feels modern while evoking a sense of nostalgia for classic beat ’em ups.
The developers are looking forward to launching an official Kickstarter campaign this February which will offer exclusive rewards and the chance to support the game’s final stages of development.
