Apart from an amazing Singleplayer campaign, Multiplayer is another major part of Gears 5 and thanks to continued support, The Coalition is continuing to make the game even better with new additions to the game frequently. The developer has now revealed details on what we can expect from the Gears 5 Title Update 4 dropping next week for the game and the biggest reveal is another brand new Multiplayer character which is none other Kantus.
Kantus found its way to the franchise back in Gears in War 2 and has been a formidable enemy character since then. Nearly all titles after Gears of War 2 featured the deadly Kantus leading the Locust army is different scenarios. We went on to see an even more extreme form of Kantus which was the Armored Kantus. For the time being, we are only getting the normal Kantus in Gears 5 and it comes with the abilities which are the same as those of Lizzie Carmine.
Kantus will be a playable multiplayer character and players will be able to use them in Arcade Versus mode. Kantus is the final character of Gears 5: Operation 2 and will mark the end of the Operation. Players who own the Gears 5 Operation 2: Free for All Bundle can get it for free while others can get it for 500 Iron or craft it by completing the following list of hefty Totem challenges.
- Revive 75 Teammates
- Get 300 Eliminations with Locust Weapons
- Complete 6 Acts of Escape on Advanced difficulty or above
- Get 100 Assists in Versus
- Earn 60,000 XP playing Versus, Horde or Escape
Gears 5 Title Update 4 does not have a confirmed release date at this point but the developer has announced that the update will arrive sometime during the next week. The update will also bring many other changes to the game including changes to the Ranking system and adding an ‘Estimated Wait Time’ to the game which will allow players to check the wait time before they can join certain playlists in the game.
