Sucker Punch has confirmed that its latest title Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on the PlayStation 5 on day one and will run on 60fps on the next-gen console. In addition, if you have played the game on the PS4, you will be able to transfer your save and start where you last left off.

The details were announced in a blog post by the senior vice president at Sony, Hideaki Nishino, who starts off by saying that 99% of the 4000+ games on the PS4 will be playable on the PS5.

PS5 owners playing with Game Boost will see an extra option to allow frame rates up to 60FPS, and while loading speeds on the PS4 are already great, just wait until you see them on the PS5!

We are focused on the huge catalog of games on PlayStation 4, and we’re pleased that more than 99% of PS4 games will be playable on PS5 on day one. This includes games that have defined the PS4 generation – from critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusives like The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, to blockbuster hits from our third-party partners.

Ghost of Tsushima is receiving a new update this week on Friday, which will bring the New Game+ mode. This mode will be accessible after you finish the main story campaign of the game, while all your gear, skills, and skins will carry in the new playthrough right from the start.

In addition, the update will also bring additional trophies, a Ghost Flower Merchant, new armor loadouts, a playtime indicator, and a Photo Mode which will allow you to take beautiful photos right in the middle of your gameplay.
