Retro Shooter Gleylancer Release Announced for Oct 15

Indie publisher Ratalaika Games has announced that it is releasing the classic retro shooter Gleylancer digitally on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The title Gleyland was released back in 1992 on Sega Mega Drive exclusively and was released only in Japan initially. The title only came to the west later on Wii in 2008. Now, the title is making a comeback across PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch once again.

Gleylancer follows the story of Lucia, who is a 16-year-old fighter pilot in the Earth Federation. A war has broken out between humans and an unknown alien race in the year 2025. Lucia’s father Ken, who is a high-ranking admiral in the Federation navy, is captured when his ship is warped out of the combat zone with 4 alien modules that have the ability of teleportation.

Once Lucia gets to know of her father’s disappearance, she becomes upset and decides to hijack the prototype fighter CSH-01-XA ‘GleyLacer’ with the help of her friend Teim and tries to rescue her father. You can check out the gameplay of Gleylancer in action below:

Gleylancer will release across PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch tomorrow, October 15, 2021, and will set you back $6.99. There is no word on a physical release at this point however considering how much the fans are looking forward to playing this game, we might get a limited-edition physical release of the title soon as well.
