Holiday season is the best season to play video games and it is extra special because not only do you have holidays but also because everyone is gifting video games to each other as well. This naturally increases the sales of video games as well, so it is interesting to see which games sold the most during this holiday season and it was none other than God of War Ragnarok. Despite releasing a few months ago, PlayStation’s exclusive God of War Ragnarok managed to sell the highest during the holiday week ending 31/12/2022.
Before this week, God of War Ragnarok was sitting at the third spot on the official GFK Entertainment Software Charts however for the holiday season, the game managed to climb back to the top spot. FIFA 23 lost its crown and dropped to second place on the charts with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II securing the third and fourth spots on the list respectively. Nintendo titles have always enjoyed massive success however for the holiday week, five out of ten top spots were occupied by Nintendo exclusives. These included Pokemon Violet, Nintendo Switch Sports, Pokemon Scarlet, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Minecraft on Nintendo Switch.
The final tenth spot was occupied by Sonic Frontiers which had dropped from its previous seventh position. Below you will find all the top 10 titles for the holiday week:

These are the ten games that dominated the sales market during the holiday week. Games that dropped out of the list include Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope which dropped to the eleventh position from its previously held ninth position. Grand Theft Auto V is still going strong after all these years and it moved to the twelfth spot from the previous sixteenth.
